Monitor to use alongside a 24" in portait mode?

Looking to add a second monitor beside a Dell 2405FPW. I'd like to have the second monitor in portrait mode for reading longer documents and so it is not as wide space wise. 24" will be in landscape mode.

What monitor would be a better size for this as I want to try and match the on screen sizing of text and images to the 24" as closely as possible so it is not distracting. I don;t think any 20 or 22" will be an exact match but which would be closest image size wise to the 24"?

Looking at the 22" E228WFP oe 20" UltraSharp 2009W

Any comments would be appreciated.

I found a 19" to be perfect size in alignment with the 2407WFP. Anything larger would be too big and just seem out of context.

19" 4X3 or widescreen? Are you running it in portrait mode?

I'm no longer running that setup. When I was, I had a 19" Samsung 4:3 monitor doing 1024x1280 (portrait). The physical dimensions were perfectly aligned with the Dell.

Why not just buy another 24"? You can buy 2405FPW's or even the new 2408WFP for $500 or so.

I think you will be dissappointed with those because they use TN LCD panels, as compared to your high end 2405FPW which uses either a S-PVA or S-IPS panel.

I really don't need the full size of another 24" and I'd like somethig nto run in portrait mode. Mainly for a secondary display for documents, IM, email, widgets, etc so as to clear off the 24" for primary work only. A TN is fine as it wont be the main disply in use.

Main issue is getting somethig nthat will have similar pixel sizing so the images/text are relatively same on both for viewing.
