The T-rex just wrecks people how do people get passed this. I've fired dozens of S.O.S flares too. I'm using a hunter's bow.

Been checking out vids on YouTube and most suggest using big swords instead of smaller weapons unless you like dying a hundred times. Also, you will need to learn to time your attacks and dodge a lot. Might also need to lead the Dino's to each other so they can fight it out and you can then kill the weakened one you want. Lots of strategies...

I wrecked him with my gun lance and then switched over hammer to farm him. Also as a bow user, you should be making good use of traps/barrel bombs since it's very easy for you to lead him into traps.

Hitting him where his crotch or face seems to have worked, also figured out I don't always need a charged shot with my bow can let out consecutive more rapid fires to get more of the monsters hp down. Now I'm farming him, for better gear.

I find the bow really good cause you can be super precise on which monster parts to dismantle. Game is super fun would def recommend to anyone.

Glad you were able to beat him. It's incredibly satisfying to finally get a hard monster down. I am so glad I didn't wait the six months for the PC release. The game is butter smooth on my PS4 Pro.

I used Dual swords to take it down. Entire quest took maybe 30 minutes. For me it was just patience and not getting greedy with my hits. I found the last part to be the most annoying because it wasn't a spacious and I kept getting stunlocked.

The reconstruction method reminds me of Odyssey in handheld mode.

Summary:
- All consoles have some
temporal reconstruction method, which results in some stippling.
- No 30FPS lock.
- Graphics mode pushes LODs a lot farther
- PS4: 1080p, frame rate hangs around 30 but can drop a lot
- XB1: 864p, frame rate averages at 26-ish FPS in the forest area
- PS4 Pro: 1800p CB in resolution mode, always above 30FPS, performance and graphics mode are both 1080p, performance averages at 45ish FPS, graphics is the same as resolution
- XB1X: 1728p (4x base XB1), roughly the same performance as Pro in resolution, 1080p in graphics and performance, graphics averages at the same frame rate as performance on Pro, performance is usually better and can even reach 50+fps in less demanding areas.
- LODs better on PS4.

Native resolutions:

PS4 base: 1080p
XBox One base: 864p

PS4 Pro: 1800p
XBox One X: 1728p

I'm farming Anjanaths now to try to get the armor set. Have 3/5, just need one of the stupid fangs.

This game is amazingly fun so far. Runs really good on the Xbox one X if you set it to maximize framerate.

I switched to a melee weapon the long sword to be exact. I'm finding it super hard to gauge the monsters attack animation when I'm zoomed in smashing buttons.

Obviously I see other players doing some really good damage with melee weapons but I guess I still suck at it. Using a bow and heavy bow gun seems so much easier to aim and dodge.

If you're looking for a seamless coop multiplayer game ala Ghost Recon Wildlands, where you can drop in and out with freedom, this isn't the game for you. Everything is segregated and instanced. Once in the 'hunt' instance, its pretty fun, but coop in this game is the worst I've experienced in awhile, very kludgy and bloated. Theres no multiplayer immersion feel to this, cities are instanced and it seems only 1 area per city seems to seed other players, and good luck seeing them. Shrug.

Getting totally rekted after hitting high grade... I can barely kill a pink rathian solo but what a thrill. Loving it when that 200's number shows up when my blast hammer connect! Boom baby!

Change your cameras.

I can't recall which setting it was but as soon as I changed 2 of the camera settings I found that the game played more like a I expected it to. It seemed counter to what I'd expect, but it was something along the lines of Camera faces direction you are heading instead of targeted monster.

At the very least I stopped getting motion sick after a long fight.

Anyhow, there are about 2 different camera settings to fiddle with and of course two different places you need to "invert Y" as well. Game became more intuitive to me after changing those defaults.
