More cops on the roads in GTA
Has anyone else noticed more cops around giving tickets this week? I have seen like 4 people pulled over on 401 and DVP this week. Plus I saw an unmarked cruiser waiting for speeders in the Brick works off Bayview. Are they cracking down on speeders?

Didn't they announce they were going to do ticketing on weekdays rather than just focusing on the long weekends?

there was an accident on DVP this morning tho... so that may of contributed to more cops being on the highway.

Have definitely noticed more cops (mostly OPP) on the highways. Usually see at least one car pulled over on my commute to and from work.
What a sad state of affairs. Traffic police are a far greater threat to my well-being than the various types of "bad" drivers on the roads.

I see lot of police in unusual spot setup speed detector, most are at 80km turn into 50km zone. If they find the pray they just walk into the road and stop that car, they're holding up traffic big time.

It's been a slow winter.
Cities are gearing up for their new budgets and need more revenue for all those things we all want so, where else can you get a lot of money for a little work? Why, speeding tickets of course!
Lemme see, stop 20 people an hour, average $120 each, time XX cops on the road for XX days....woo hoo, we can build a new skating rink!!

Ever since the OPP announced the end of blitzes I have been seeing the OPP on the 407 nearly every day, half the the time patrolling, the other half as a speed trap.
Just this past Easter Sunday in the afternoon while travelling on the QEW from Hamilton to Mississauga, I counted 5 OPP cars on the east bound side, and 2 on the westbound. All were in plain sight, not close to bridges or other obstacles. A show of force?

as someone who gets profiled on a weekly basis, yes, I've seen more cops out. Makes me not even want to drive sometimes

You want to elaborate on that?
