I believe it's illegal for stores to carry & sell, and illegal to use. But there's nothing illegal about "possessing" it since it was once available for consumers to use.
Kind of a loop hole I guess.
As for the smell, etc. Depends if ur neighbors are tree huggers I think. I friend gave me a strong smelling boiled tobacco fertilizer solution that has a strong odour, so I could always day it was that. Lol

re: bolded 2, the problem is, some of us have bought homes from previous owners who ignored them for years! Or have neighbors nearby who have as well. But youre right, I suspect 2-3 applications of the spray this year, and maybe one at the start of next year, should get things well enough under control so that I can go back to using a Weed Hound.
re: bolded 1, funny I never really noticed much of an odour from it, but last week when I was doing a followup application a jogger ran by and even 20 ft ahead of my house started grumbling and coughing, and cursing as she ran by, as if a plane was spraying Agent Orange on her! I personally think it was mostly psychological, as Ive never smelt anything except when the concentrate gets spilled on my hands, and there wasnt much wind, and the sprayer is fairly low pressure and held 12" or so from the ground, but its possible some ppl are really sensitive to certain smells.
But in most cases I think its a vivid imagination fuelled by misinformation.Last edited by stealth; Jul 5th, 2012 at 11:38 PM.

There was a story here in Saskatoon a few years back of two neighbours that were feuding about herbicide use. One neighbour uses some weed killer on their part of the lawn and the other neighbour objected - vehemently. They actually went to court over this. Turned out the one neighbour was bat-$hit crazy and it eventually led to the other neighbour selling their house just to get away from them.

Ya I definitely could see issues arising from it.
fortunately my neighbors are picky about their lawns and hated the way our homes previous owners let thigns go, so they thank me for doing it.
In fact most have admitted that they stocked up on the stuff before the ban and still use it._______________

A child asked his father "What is a man?"
The father replied, "A person who takes responsibility for his family and his house and takes care of them"
Then the child said, "I hope I will be a man like mum one day."

You must have lived in a different 2011 than me, I'm also West of GTA and due to the amount of rain we had in June I wasn't able to get my fence posts done until Canada Day weekend, and even then was a bit dicey since their tractor still ripped up a decent amount of my grass and had some trouble getting up the hill
Then to top it off after they set the posts for me the next day and we started framing it rained again, very hard
But then yes July was VERY dry after that until early August.. but isn't that per usual for July?

Nope, definitely the same 2011 as everyone else!
I keep records of this kind of stuff and in Burlington the weather was as I described: all the usual Summer storms went around us and there was zero rain after the first week of June and for the following 9 weeks... except for the sprinkle Canada Day weekend.
But I'm repeating myself.
