'mother!' Jennifer Lawrence Javier Bardem Darren Aronofsky thriller/horror/art-house rick roll(?)

A romance bloomed between JLaw and her director so movie notwithstanding they'll still always have those memories

The trailer reminds me of Get Out, but with white people.

This was the weirdest, most messed up movie I have ever seen and probably will ever see. I think there's a biblical allegory here but who could say for sure. Don't waste your money.

edit: to expand, this wasn't awful in the way Transformers is awful. This had solid acting, great camera work, and for the first half of the movie you get drawn into this creepy story. Then by the last act it turns the knob to 11 and the drugs kick in and everything goes off the rails.

I've just never been a big Aronofsky fan. He's made movies that I liked but on the whole, I dislike more of his work than like.

Paramount embraces the controversy (what else can they do?)

At least now that I've seen it, I understand the meaning of the teaser poster.

So controversially divisive, you must see it!

I've liked most of aronovskys stuff; Pi, reqiuem for a dream, the fountain, wrestler...I know he pushes the boundaries a little which can be hit or miss...I still have to see mother!
