Mouse hiding in the car
We've just come back from a camping trip and there's at least one mouse somewhere in our car (Matrix). On our way back we went to Walmart and bought some poison and a couple of traps and left them in the car overnight (will know if they were successful when I head out to work in a few minutes). Has this happened to anyone else? and how did you manage to get rid of the pesky rodent?

We had a mouse in a friends cottage this past weekend. The little bugger was evading capture, scurrying behind a bookshelf and then eventually behind the fridge. We moved the fridge and he went underneath the stove. When we pulled that out he had disappeared somewhere.
A few minutes later my friend walked inside, holding a dead mouse by its tail. We had let his dog out just after moving the stove and he had walked up to his owner and dropped a dead mouse to the ground from his mouth.
So if the traps don't work, try using a dog (or a cat).

We have a cat but I'm not sure she's going to have much luck in the confines of the car as the mouse is just going to hide under the seats. We left the car in the street as we're a bit scared of bringing it into the garage as it might get into the house.

Or better yet, you can start a thread here at RFD and wait for all the smart@sses to come out and build their postcounts by posting dumb@ss responses. I'm sorry, but posts like the one I've quoted above just irritate me to no end...the OP came here asking for an honest solution to an honest problem. If he wanted bad comedy I'm sure he's smart enough to go to amateur night at Yuk Yuk's. It's been said here before, but I'll repreat, that if you have nothing helpful to add to a serious thread then please STFU and save your wit (or lack thereof) for an appropriate thread.

I've also seen suggestions from other people saying to put a drop of pure peppermint oil on cottom balls and leave those in your car as mice are "allergic" to that scent. If you can't find pure peppermint oil, try using peppermint Altoids, since apparently they are the only mint to use peppermint oil. I've also seen suggestions to place clean human hair under the seats since the smell scares the mice away. If all of that fails to work quickly, then I'd suggest you contact your dealership ASAP to see what advice they can offer as mice have been known to cause 1000's of dollars of damage to the delicate wiring systems of cars.
You might also want to do a google search of the terms "mice" and "car" (don't use the word "mouse" in your search as you'll just get hundreds of hits telling you how to build a "mouse-trap car").
Good luck and let us know if you stumble upon a solution that works.

Talking about animals, there is a big rat (not sure how to name it) appearing in my backyard, it's bigger than a Cat, but smaller than a dog....it is around my neighbour and it tear off my garbage bags, mess everything around and I have to clean it after....
I saw the rat in person, but it skipped away fast....

Lol, bigger than a cat? Called a racoon? Unless you live in Chernobyl, i don't see how a big rat that size can exist.

how to get rid of mouse:
the mouse is probably thirsty now.
put 1 or 2 buckets of cold water in the car. half-filled.
maybe put a little container of food (peanuts) floating on the water.
mouse will climb into the bucket and drown.
helps if you put a board against the bucket for the mouse to use as a ladder.
other people suggested putting soap or oil in the water but it is up to you.
just cold water works.
could be an opossum
