owners of players with removeable memory report higher incidents of problems...you'll notice in early 2005 toward microHDD & flash memory. FM is a worthwhile feature if you're a commuter and look for a model allowing you to record radio stations. when i have morning meetings i leave my player on CBC radio and listen to interviews on my afternoon commute home.
purchase features you'll use, save money but stick to manufacturers & models with a large user base because this will help you with troubleshooting & shortcuts in ripping files. i use an ipod to archive my music & radio interviews but i use my Muvo TX FM to record daily notes...the experience is similar to purchasing a laptop; it's not the nicest or most expensive that gets the job done but you want a reliable one to get you through the day. sandisk, philips & generic brands just don't measure up.
