MPIO, good brand of Mp3 players.
I know about iRiver and Creative but dont want to spend that much. mpio looked cheap so I'm wondering if its a good brand at all.
thanks_______________

I've had a MPIO FL100 for a couple of years now, and I think they make very good players. Good menu, good sound quality, and their players are pretty sleek.
Haven't had a chance to play with their newer stuff though.

My girlfriend owns a MPIO but doesn't like the proprietary software that you must use to load the songs on it. However, the new FL300 is a decent player (kinda too small for my liking though) that is plug and play. I would recommend the FL300 1GB

Avoid MPIO. The Sandisk they're selling at FS for $70 is very good if you're on a budget.

i have an mpio one (fg200) and i love it. its FM tuner is great and you can use its built in recorder to record FM radio, also record directly from a computer with line in and just using its mic, audio quality is top notch, it also plays video, the screen is really small but its actually quite clear and easy to watch, shows photos, and has a little game which i have never used.
its plug and play, drop files on and off you go, no waiting for them to transfer. it includes a program that converts video files to mp4 and is extremely easy to use.
they really include a lot of extras, a case that clips onto your pants/shirt or whatever, a neclace holder, and arm band, earphones, transfer cable, CD with software.

ok I just found out that Mpio is a futureshop brand and they are mostly crap. some of the new ones actually get hot while playing mp3s, I guess you should get a good heatsink fan for them.

Dec 31st, 2005 04:20 PM #15i was always under the impression that MPIO is a Korean company that isn't huge, but is pretty well respected for making quality mp3 players in Asia
