MUGEN..experience it?
I recently found out about MUGEN, this customizable fighting game for windows xp where you can have hundreds of characters and levels from different fighting games into one. I know there are the google goggles but just wanted to know if anybody here has first-hand experience with it.

Jul 10th, 2006 02:45 PM #4I used it back when I had a Cyrix 6x86 PR166+ and Win98. Of course back then the thing was for DOS.

If I remember you can also customize your music. I used to use MIDI's back then. I believe Mugen supported the use of MP3's but that Cyrix chip had a fairly weak FPU so the framerate would drop quite sharply (more so than a Pentium chip, prolly the only weakness of that chip).
I'm not sure what they have changed now if they have updated it or whatever. Hopefully they have SF3 generation characters. Then that would be nice._______________

MUGEN is pretty old fighting engine (is it still being updated ?) back in the day (around 2000~2001) I use play and make characters for it but back then its was a dos version.
there were also other fighting engines like kof91 and kvs.

Why MUGEN is so cool -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vbm_-...earch=N64Mario
I've played around with it a bit after seeing all the cool Youtube videos. You can basically do pretty much anything really, but it can take quite a bit of coding. Trying to go through the bonus stages like the Mario stage with your favourite fighter can be hilarious. Oh and Nightmare SSJ4 Broli is so incredibly cheap, as is Sasuke. Cheesy unberable characters.

This program sounds really cool. I'm looking into it right now. I miss Capcon vs. SNK 2 Millenium Fight 2000. I love the fighters with a large mix of characters!

ACK! can someone help me?
I loaded up Mugen along with EVE, and when i load eve, everything is fine except for the posititioning of the screen. It's slightly off to the right and a quarter of the screen gets cut off. I can't find any site that discusses this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jul 14th, 2006 09:55 PM #15I'm using the Eve batle screen pack too, did you add any characters to it? If so there is a chance that you might have made a mistake while adding characters or made a change to your System def file, which might be causing it.
