My car was misfiring this morning. Quoted 250-300 to fix it. Is the price right?

My car was misfiring this morning. Quoted 250-300 to fix it. Is the price right?

The car was slow on acceleration when I was starting the car but the engine sounded fine at $60km/h and so looked the acceleration
When in parking the car had no symptoms
When the car was not moving and I was putting in drive the car was shaking slightly (unusula) and when I was trying to accelerate to gain some speed the car was slow to gain speed( had the same feeling like when you press the acceleration pedal on snow and the wheels are spinning without moving the car)

This is for a Ford focus 2002 (Wagon)

car misfiring could be a few things.
hard to say whether $250-300 is fair without knowing the actual problem.
my guess would be a bad ignition coil or cam position sensor failing.

so how much it would be to fix each of those two

Yes. Understood. Now why is it misfiring?

If I knew that I would have known if the price is right and I wouldn't be asking here :-)

lol what a joke

get an actual estimate and then come back here and ask if the actual work done (per the estimate) is reasonably priced.

Seems fine, about what I paid when my car went through a similar thing (2002 Ford Taurus), basically just needed a tune up.
RFD is love. RFD is life. I wish I had an RFDer for a wife.

Is this a joke? K so you brought the vehicle to a mechanic and they quoted you $250-300 to REPLACE WHAT? What was the cause of the misfire? Bad plugs? Wires? Bent valve?

I am guessing he's replacing the plugs.

They're like $5 each. So $20 in parts and like up to $280 in labour.

Sounds pretty expensive.
