Is my current roommate untrustworthy IYO?

I paid him $200 damage deposit, which I asked him the day I moved in, if it was refundable, and he said 'yes'. I got a receipt for that DD, and for rent.

However, he has no job and is on a pension and barely gets by. He lost $189 on March 31 and he had to pay the late fees.

So i remember last Friday, I suggested he use some of my $200 DD to pay for the $35-$50 late fees. He said "I used all that up". And I said that's "200 bucks for deposit, and you weren't supposed to use that money".

He says "bro, I told you I was late on paying rent last month, so don't judge me, man". And I had to get on the bus since I had work that day.

So basically, he used my $200 without telling me and probably has no intentions of giving that to me, since he owes multiple people money.

Also, he shows me his EPCOR bill and they wanted to charge him $423 since BEFORE I moved in. He is talking and indirectly asking me to split on it, even though I'm almost never home, and am at home for like 5 hours and then I sleep (all the lights and power is off in my room).

I said "I'm not paying for that" and that annoyed him and he goes on ranting about how he doesn't care if power gets shut off, and all he cares about is himself and his family, etc. He keeps saying "there's just no way I'm paying this, I just can't". He's like "you live here too, moving is annoying especially in the summers, and you can't find rent for $400. There's no way".

So since he always wants me to pay for half this and that (usually in the hundreds), should I just ignore him? Also, what can I do about the DD? Should I ask for it back, seeing as how he can't possibly pay it all now that he used it.

He knows I work several jobs and thus assumes I can afford to take a hit here and there and help foot the bills.

You need to move out on your own, since you cannot get along with other people.

I feel you have poor social skills and self esteem. Also you may may have "mommy issues", since you have replaced her with a deals forum, because shes probably sick and tired of you complain 24/7.
