My experence dealing with The Source
I guess this is what you should expect from a retail chain owned by Bell.
So I went in on a boxing day sale TV from The Source: source-haier-50e3500-50a-1080p-led-hdtv ... e-1891095/
My TV arrived in a few days. I was thrilled. Had to go get it from a store in mall which meant lugging a 50" TV through the mall and busy parking lot but whatever. Got it home, unboxed it, set it up and there was a big bright ugly green stuck pixel, right in the middle of the image. Great...
Of course I'm not going to accept a brand new item that's defective out of the box, so I contact The Source's customer service who advise me that I have to return it to the store (in the mall) and have them order me another (which I'd then have to go back to the mall to get.) I though this was really silly but I did it anyways. Store person's advice: No customer service should send us a replacement and you come here to do the swap when it arrives. I though okay... that’s not what they said but at least this way I have some sort of TV while waiting for it to arrive.
Get home, contact customer service and ask to have a replacement shipped to the store. No problem... except the website shows out of stock now. Customer service guy says he's not sure why the website says that but the system shows some in stock at the warehouse. It's likely just the boxing day deal is sold out, but he can have one shipped to the store. Should take 3 days and they'll contact me if anything changes.
Four days later, nothing. Contact customer service again, nope no TV, they have zero stock and may never get any more.
For my inconvenience, they offered to send a $100 gift card, which is nice but I'll believe it when I see it. The source is batting .000 right now with following up on their promises. I asked the rep to email me statement and CC the manager.
Now to find something at The Source for exactly $88.49 and never attempt to give them a cent again.
Anyways... thanks for listening.
