Hello. I bought a $29 for 3 month membership from Buytopia. I will redeem the voucher on Friday or Saturday. Hopefully they won't pull anything on me. I'll let you guys know what happens.
Did anyone else buy this deal? If you did, can you share your experience with Wynn when signing up?

Well, for starters, we should absolutely refuse to give any payment info and decline the "fitness assessment." I've had some bad experiences with gyms in the past (Extreme Fitness). Can't be too careful with them...

I bought the $30 for 3 months wagjag and activated it already. I didn't have any problems when activating. I was offered a contract, but I turned it down and it never came up again (ymmv). I have to do the "assessment" before I get my membership card. So far so good. Just make sure to read everything before signing.

I got the $30/3mth Wagjag deal and activated it last week.
I'm quite impressed with the facilities. Everything is new, clean, and well-maintained.
Like others, I was most apprehensive to sign anything due to the sad state of affairs and inherent notoriety of the gym industry; however, I was pleasantly surprised at my experience thus far.
When I first came in to activate my coupon, the guy said something to the effect of, "Well, you're not going to just work out for 3 months, right? You're going to work out for the rest of your life...how does $30/mth for a year sound...?" etc. I wasn't rude but wasn't entirely receptive either, and surprisingly he didn't push. He did insist on booking a fitness assessment. I stalled and said I would do it next week due to a chaotic schedule. I signed the contract which stipulated 3 months and no banking or payment information.
I decided to get the fitness assessment out of the way last week. The guy was very friendly but quite hurried. He measured me, weighed me, and took my body fat percentage. I informed him of a pre-existing injury and he advised that I seek physiotherapy to supplement my workouts (I plan on doing strictly cardio, specifically the elliptical cross-trainer).
We went down to the gym and did a bunch of core exercises, a couple of which I declined because I knew it could aggravate my injury. The whole thing lasted 45 minutes, at which point I expected him to take me up to his office and try to sell me personal training sessions. Much to my shock and elation, he reiterated the importance of physio, wished me luck, and sent me on my way. Softest. Sell. Ever.
The only caveat thus far is that I have yet to get my membership card, but they've been extremely accommodating with just using my contract slip thus far.
So, I am extremely happy with the way it's played out. I haven't given any banking information, my 3 months have been activated, and I'm quite pleased with the way everything is run and maintained.
Who knows, maybe at the end of the 3 months I'll join up full time.
I'll edit this post if I encounter any difficulty getting my membership card.
Enjoy, people!

Cant win with Wynn
Wynn Fitness Keele, epitomizes all the negative connotations that come to mind when one thinks of the fitness industry. Double billing, extra $15.00 on your credit card repeatedly and when asked why the charge you're told "we had to put it through twice" which is strange when there's a 5K credit balance on the card. The sales staff and in particular a certain sales manager are deceitful, extremely rude and belligerent to the point that you have to wonder if they've been inhaling the "sweat" a bit too much! Charged for training sessions that didn't happen and double billed for the ones that were done.
Trying to get answers to resolve billing issues is an exercise in futility as you are subjected to comments such as "be a man and pay your bills!" which is a rather ludicrous statement when I've paid the bill and want to know why you've added $15.00 to it and a training session charge that I didn't get. Going into the office makes no sense as they still continue to bill your credit card after u leave. Asking the card company to stop the payments solves nothing as they say they can't stop the charges. Changing your card doesn't help either as they continue to bill you. Government agencies that you think are suppose to help are a joke and they basically tell you to submit reams of evidence and they'll investigate while still get billed.
I would definitely NOT!!!!!! recommend this location primarily for it's outright fraudulent and thieving billing practices and it's nasty customer service and dare them to prove otherwise!!!!
