Hi Guys I am planning to have a large shoe collection of shoes. But I am thinking on how to preserve them because I want to use some of my shoes that I will be collecting. Can anyone suggest me on how to preserve them properly?
Thanks in advance guys.

What's the point of collecting shoes if you're not going to wear them? I never really understood this hobby.

You can buy boxes (plastic or cardboard) that can hold an individual pair of shoes. Take a picture of each pair of shoes and glue the pic to the end of each shoe box. You will know instantly what shoe is where and the boxes can be neatly stacked in your closet.

Way too much people are into the "shoe game" that most pair of shoes you collect won't be worth more than the retail price. Only pairs that will increase significantly would be stuff like the yeezy's or quickstrike releases of jordans perhaps.

I would imagine it would really depend on how collectible the shoes actually are. Most shoes will never increase in value, but certain limited edition shoes might be resold way above retail the same day they are released.
Few people who collect shoes would actually make money off them though. There is a difference between owning valuable things and actually making money off them. Collecting shoes isn't really any different than collecting anything else.

Every shoe collector I know is trying to dump their collections. I've got a storage locker full of unworn Nike. If you're going to collect sneakers, do so because you like sneakers. not because you expect to make any financial gain. Very few sneakers are worth it for the resale value. And even if you can resell it, the profits will just be eaten up by all the sneakers you bought that are worth less than what you bought them for.

I collect them because I like them and I am not collecting shoes for financial gain. I already had 230 pairs of shoes and some of them are rusty shoes already because I had not put them in a plastic before. When I wore some of it, some of the soles just remove instantly. I mostly collect jordan shoes. Thats a good idea putting them in a zip lock, I will buy some of it too, to put some of my shoes.

How many collectors actually use the things that they collect? You can't really "use" a stamp collection or a coin collection. Even with more usable stuff like books, records, comics, toys, etc, it is so much more valuable and collectible if you keep them in brand new condition that few collectors would actually use the ones that they are collecting.
I do think that many people would like to at least be able to display their collection though, or easily show it off. Shoes in a zip lock bag in a closet don't seem all that fun.

Never wear the same pair of leather shoes two days in a row. Good shoes need time to rest and retain their shape. Place your shoes in cedar wood shoetrees as soon as you take them off. The cedar absorbs moisture, helping to prolong the shape and minimize creasing. To dry shoes that have been drenched in the rain, scrunch up some newspaper and place them inside your shoes. Under no circumstances place them near a radiator or use a hairdryer, as this damages the leather. Use sandpaper to score the surface of the sole and then place the shoes inside an empty biscuit tin lid. Then pour in some linseed oil up to the top of the sole and leave for a week.
