My USB ports are NOT 2.0, wtf? ***THIS IS REALLY PISSING ME OFF!***
Im trying to install a tv tuner card driver and it said "please plug in to a high speed port, as the one you have it pluged into now is not high speed"
wtf does this mean? My USB ports arent 2.0?Last edited by Papi; Apr 9th, 2006 at 12:30 AM.

there's a usb 1.0 (low speed) which is really slow like 1.5mbit/s or 183kb/s

last but not least there's 2.0 which is Highspeed: 480mbit / s or 57mb/s
Good luck._______________

Check in BIOS and check if your motherboard has USB 2 support.

Do you have service pack 2 installed? If not, there's your problem. I had the same issue and that resolved it

How the heck do I update my USB and why isnt it 2.0?

if its an older laptop then it won't be USB2.0.
You might need to download USB2.0 drivers from Sony. My laptop requires drivers to 'enable' 2.0 speeds/functionality.
