Nantucket Tires & Mags - Opinions?
I'm currently calling places looking for quotes on Nokian Hakka R's, and Nantucket Tires has so far come in with the best price.
Has anyone dealt with them in the past? They're not as popular as tires23 or wheels direct, so I'm having a bit of trouble finding user opinions.
Thanks for sharing!_______________

Avoid at all costs ...
Stay away from this place unless you want your expensive wheels scratched. Long story short: went in to purchase a set of winter wheels on Thursday, negotiated and agreed on price and placed a deposit, next day came back for a test fitting to make sure the new wheels would clear the brake calipers, somehow the the grease monkeys managed to leave a three inch scratched on one of the front wheel spokes and scraped off paint on two lug nut sockets on the rear wheel. Didn't initially see these scratches because the garage was dimly lit and it was dark outside at about 5pm on a Friday evening. Next day went out to car and voila! Spotted the scratches on the wheels on the driver's side, no scratches on the wheels on the passenger side. Dropped by the place on Tuesday to pick up the set of winter wheels and complain to Louie (the owner of the place) about it. Automatically Louie denies any of his employees would be that careless saying that his employees have worked on high end cars and so on. That may be the case but this one time, my car, gets damaged. Louie of course goes about denying any responsibility. And Louie goes on to say that it would be too expensive for him to refinish my damaged wheels brought on by his incompetent grease monkeys. Well, you know what Louie, I've been a loyal customer to you for years but today you have just lost yourself a customer. And it will not end there. I will spread the word to my friends, and to my friends' friends. This place does not deserve any business if they cannot own up to their mistakes.

Easy buddy, its just a car.
+
How can u be 100% certain it was not there b4 u brought it, people don't generally pay attention to something until it need the attention, which is usually when its too late to do anything.
Any proof? photo? document?
In ur case, u should of gone around the car w/the tire guy, noting any marks, then recheck it before leaving the shop w/the vehicle.
Most tire shops will not be held responsible for minor cosmetic damage, even if it is caused by their machines during installation, unless its MAJOR damage that could cause the wheel to be unbalanced or risk failure during operation on the road._______________

^^^ My mistake was putting trust in that tire shop. I had good dealings with them in the past so I put my trust in them not to damage my stock wheels this time. A very expensive lesson learned the hard way. Never again. By the way, I'm very anal about my car, especially a brand new car so I normally notice all the nicks and scratches on it. Like I said it was dark by the time I left the shop so I could not see anything.

I've purchased at least 4 sets of tires from Lou since high school. I haven't bought anything from him the in last two years (thanks Tire Rack!), but I can at least say my experiences have been very positive.

I am an actual customer. Prior to my new car which I bought a few months ago I had another car which I bought a set of all season tires from Lou. No problems with that car. I noticed his staff was different this time around. His staff this time were less professional, e.g. one guy sat on my stock wheel and tire while the other guy was test fitting the new wheel. I'm new to the forum section but not to Red Flag Deals. I don't usually comment but I'm giving you all a heads up. You can choose to believe what I have to say or not but don't say that I didn't warn you all.
