Napoleon Gas Fireplace - Thermostat install

I have a Napoleon gas fireplace but it does not have a thermostat, only an on/off switch on the control panel. I'd like to install a thermostat but wondering how I could do that? Any advice would be appreciated.

It would tell you in your owners manual if you can or can't along with what type of thermostat you would need.

I have a Napoleaon Gas log insert that only had a on/off as well. There is no thermostatic control for certain model. they are on, or off. I checked with Napoleon at the time and they said that here was no such control for my model.

If basement is unfinished you can install a thermostat on wall and fish wire over to fireplace.
Other option is to get a thermostatic remote kit like the napoleon f60 to install in bottom panel of fireplace and have remote near by
