Can you do a direct deposit straight into the HISA account? The person I signed up with said I could not, but I suspect that's nonsense.

^ ^ ... I don't know ... (but would be quite logical to assume that transfer like this won't count).

And unless you know with 100% certainty ---- Why risk it? :)

Just put $20 cash into ATM .. and then take it out :D
So can't do it with the machines in national bank? Because usually, ABM means the ones inside the bank and normal ATM are usually tagged on with fees per transactions too.

Do you need to apply for credit card in the branch as well (for $100 credit card cashback) or can you apply online after opening the bank accounts?
I did ... and not sure about applying for it online ... especially now, when I am already done, and not concerning myself with side details any longer :)

^ ^ ... like I mean, you're at the bank already (if made an appointment) ... so do everything while you are there ... and be done with it.

NO need to postpone anything for later and complicate your life ... do it at the bank and be done with it.

Applying for the credit card came to me as an after thought as I was hesitant at first. I don't know if I will get the $100 bonus if I will apply now after the fact.

Received my NBC Echo Cashback MasterCard in the mail today ... called in and activated it.
What day did you go to the branch originally (aka how many days from branch to received)

I opened the bank account and credit card. Do I need to open savings as well in order to get the cashback on these two? I am fine with $300 and can skip $50 for savings.

Did the mastercard show up on your online profile before receiving it in the mail?

The card showed up on the online banking, as well as the credit limit. I also received the PIN in the mail today (about 2 weeks after applying in-branch).
Also, the subpar service in this bank doesn't stop surprising me. On Friday I've received a phone call (Quebec area code) from a rude customer service person who was interrogating me. I was driving and told him that I don't have all the information with me and asked that he'd call on Monday, but he just kept repeating the same questions. I ended up just hanging up because I couldn't hear Waze (and he pissed me off).

Has anyone figured out if we receive our cashback in 90 days of the activation date or by February 6th, 2018. It says both in the terms and conditions..

I don't think you need savings to get cashback on chequing/credit card. IMO you should have simultaneously opened the savings too as it's an easy $50 without doing any transactions.
