I'm going on a trip soon to Toronto and need a rental.
I signed up the Emerald Club with no issues.

If I do book using the codes above, do I need to show proof or are these in an advertisement in the Car and Driver magazine?

Little Google search resulted in "CAR" as the PIN.

Another Car and Driver code is XVC1093 this one is the same as the XVC1092 except includes the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) however it costs more but not as much as $29.95 the LDW is listed at.
Example:
Mid-Size for 1-Week rental @ YYZ in Aug is:
XVC1092 = $236.12/Week
XVC1093 = $296.62/Week (w/LDW)

Mid-Size for 1-day rental @ YYZ in Aug is:
XVC1092 = $42.93/day
XVC1093 = $53.93/day (w/LDW)

In Newfoundland I only get 100 free kilometers per day with this code. 25 Cents per extra Kilometer, plus tax. :(

Actually a better code to use might be 8572130 which is the KLM/Flying Blue (frequent flyer program) code. The program is free to join. It includes unlimited miles and nearly all taxes.

Using the code 8572130 at YYZ says they are "sold out", however using the other code XVC1092/3 has vehicles. Strange.

Here's a tricky one for you - is there a code that works well out of Geneva, Switzerland? I've checked rafts and they either don't work at all, or they are horribly expensive.

Do they let you take the car into the US?

I've taken my rental from national many times (5+) into the US. Never had a problem. Then again, I never told them and I never got into trouble, but I've never seen anything in their T&C that would indicate you can't.

Got the same message of "SOLD OUT" when checking for cars at YVR using the 8572130 code.

Interesting. Enterprise T&C's indicate that you must remain in Canada. (And they make you initial it).
