well, I worked at a provincial park this summer. as a promotion, Nature Valley sent us many boxes of bars to give to campers and staff. A guy I worked with ate at least ten of them in an eight hour shift, and he seemed fine....

If you are going to eat a granol bar. The peanut butter ones are better than the rest for you. As per Men's Health Magazine.

the peanut butter ones are the best!
its alot better for you to eat something like this than a bag of chips or a chocolate bar. i take them to work all the time for a snack. the almond ones are good too._______________
That's my 2cents worth

They're about as good as a granola bar will get..
I've stopped eating them though because of the sugar content... now I just stick to real fruit and almonds... fills me up the same and I know exactly what I'm eating ..
The Peanut Butter ones ARE the best though

Nature Valley bars are made with canola oil, which is supposed to be the healthiest oil. They are made with 100% natural ingredients. They seem to be much healthier than potato chips, chocolate bars & other junk snacks.
I chose the Oats 'n' Honey with my free coupon because it has the least amount of fat (4.4g) per serving. I have avoided the peanut butter so far because it had the most fat.

My impression is that Nature Valley is as healthy as it gets for packaged snacks. The Apple, Banana and Maple flavours (not together) have the lowest fat per pack the last time I checked.

Some people are opposed to sugar as it is the main contributor to excess energy stores that are turned to fat. But i suppose the sugar is also for energy in the granola bar apart from taste and it may not have as much sugar as say energy bars like MARS or a can of pop.
some people who are concerned about sugar should also know that some fruits are very high in sugars also possibly more than a granola bar depepnding on the fruit and amount consumed.
