Maybe no one will really try this year and the raps will have a chance.

yea i remember people not giving credit to the Spurs until they won their second one with the full season. Now imagine if the Heat win this shortened season...

Do fans really look at a team differently if they win a championship in a shorten season?
I'm just curious because when I think of the Spurs, I look at all their championships as equal even though they won one in a shortened season.

Not sure about fans but Shaq definitely took jabs at the Spurs first win...
Though with the Spurs it didn't matter cuz they won with a full season as well. They proved they could do it either way.

yeah i don't think a shortened season takes anything away from a championship win.
its the same players, same coaches, etc.
in fact, one could argue winning in a short season should be MORE appreciated due to the rigour of less rest between games, and the fact that you can't slack ever. normally ive seen november and right around all-star weekend is when some teams start slacking. every game counts this time around.
also, will there be an allstar weekend this year? i think they cancelled it during the last shortened season no?

UNLESS MIAMI WINS.
in that case i won't consider it a proper win :p.
BY THE WAY: why is boston shopping around rondo? i.e. if they don't get a cp3 type of player in return, can we say that they are in rebuilding mode?

so much for getting cp3
cp3 demanding trade to nyk? man that seems so childish.
steve nash needs to pull this stunt so he can get a ring.

if they keep doing this they should just contract the league to 8 teams...

When CP3 goes to the Knicks, the games between the Knicks and Heat will be awesome... haha... just like the old days.

I don't see how this gets done unless they get a 3rd team into the deal. Other than maybe Landry Fields, the Knicks have zero desirable assets.

if howard goes out west to LA, the eastern allstar team is gauranteed to be wade, lebron, melo, bosh, amare for the next 5 6 years.

LA is the city of stardom, so no real reason why CP3 and D12 don't want to head out there.
CP3 doesn't want the spotlight. Kobe wants the spotlight. D12 will get the spotlight in a few years once Kobe retires.
With a few tweeks here and there, this definitely can pan out.
If this trade does happen, Lakers will beat the Heat for sure. Wouldn't it be funny if it was a Heat vs. Lakers Final. Lakers beat the Heat with Mike Brown's 1st season as head coach? lol That's just embarassing for Lebron being beaten by your old coach

but how do moves like these pan out of the game of basketball in general?
i.e. a cp3/dwight/kobe squad would only be good for matchups against boston/nyk/miami. its not even fair to the other squads. and cp3 n d12 would have to get adjusted to wearing the villaineous title, like what miami big3 had to do.
as a lakers fan, they'd be awesome to watch, but only for 3 quarters once they've blown out the minnesotas, the raptors, the goldenstates, the sacramentos.......etc.
i'm not a fan of these superstar teams.

yah i agree, i dont believe in superstar teams either - but then you gotta understand it's a changing environment now. People dont care about money as much, they care about winning. The bargaining agreement negotiations were suppose to make it harder for superstars to merge together, but there is only so much the NBA can do, especially when stars are WILLING to take paycuts, and the teams are WILLING to shed their entire roster for superstar players
Although it wasn't as noticable in the old days; Jordan did have Pippen + Rodman. Malone had Stockton. Magic had Jabbar + Worthy. So superstar teams will always be around. But it's just more noticable now because the NBA has really expanded in the past decade or two.
In any case, can't do much about it. Just gotta enjoy the entertainment
And just because certain teams are stacked with superstars, doesnt mean the other teams dont have a chance. It's actually MORE the reason we should cheer for the no-name players. Here's their chance to prove they are JUST as good as those kooks lol
I dont think Lakers will be seen as the villian, cuz CP3 and D12 have been handling themselves WAY better than how Lebron and Bosh did (more so Lebron). At least they dont go parading around on tv, giving false hope to his old team/home town. They have more class, and that is respectable.
