i.e. a cp3/dwight/kobe squad would only be good for matchups against boston/nyk/miami. its not even fair to the other squads. and cp3 n d12 would have to get adjusted to wearing the villaineous title, like what miami big3 had to do.
as a lakers fan, they'd be awesome to watch, but only for 3 quarters once they've blown out the minnesotas, the raptors, the goldenstates, the sacramentos.......etc.
i'm not a fan of these superstar teams.
yea at first I thought it would be cool to see players sacrifice money to form a superteam. Now that everyone wants to do it, it's not fun.
If I wanted to watch blowouts, I'd watch the Harlem Globetrotters take on the Washington Generals.
Plus all the casual fans will only tune in/go to games when the superteams play. That's not good for the league.

I don't know about that. It looks like the NBA is heading down the route of European football. If anyone is familiar with any of the European leagues, those leagues are stacked with 3-4 really good teams and then there's everyone else. It makes for some VERY lopsided matches but when the big teams do meet up, it becomes a very epic showdown. Think Manchester United vs. Chelsea, or Barcelona vs. Real Madrid. and these types of matchups draw a lot more of the casual fans, thus, increasing the viewership for the league (allbeit for only one match).
I'm not saying I would like that to happen. I personally prefer to have a more evenly distributed league in terms of talent so games like the Lakers vs. Sacramento don't become blowouts by the 3rd quarter.
There's still a ways to go before the NBA turns into La Liga (Barcelona and Real Madrid fighting for 1st place EVER year). But it does look like it's heading into that direction.

For sure it'd be great when two superteams meet up. But what about the rest of the matchups? Like others posted, do you really want to watch Cle vs Sac? Would you pay to see that? I wouldn't go to a Raps game if they weren't playing one of the superteams. But that's how most of the matchups will be like...

Carter is getting cut by the Suns so that Phoenix does not have to pay his bloated contract this year.
McGrady is also a free agent.
I think either or both of them should sign with the Bulls or Heat. It is probably the last chance either of them have
at winning a championship. Not sure if they would accept a more limited role coming off the bench and playing less minutes at this stage
in their careers though.
Both would be a significant upgrade over those teams' existing backups.
Barring injuries and if they were motivated, those two should have been first ballot Hall of Famers.
Makes you wonder how their careers could have went differently if McGrady had stayed in Toronto with Carter after the '00 season.

T-Mac is heading to the Hawks.
And with Chandler added to the Knicks, wow...they will give the Heat some serious competition. But they are likely going to be cutting Billups to free up some room (unfortunately).

What's UN-expected is that the Knicks are now considering offering Amare to New Orleans for CP3!! Now THAT's insane. Amare must be hitting himself right now

Yea, Mavs are going to go back to their perennial second round losing ways, lol.
It's too bad Mark Cuban didn't cough up the cash, but I can understand that he wants to be able to make a big move in 2012

You gotta be crapping me. Why would they destroy their line up like that?

Apparently the Knicks are trying to sign and trade Billups for Chandler, but that makes no sense at all for the Mavs.

I guess the Mav's might want to use billups as a trading piece for someone else? maybe for a contending team that wants a strong backup PG like billups?

If the Knicks do that, they are just straight up stupid.
CP3 is already going to sign with them in 2012, like Melo would have as well. They already traded their entire line up, now they want to trade their number 1/2 go to guy?
Wow...I would LOL too...but yea, if I were Amare right now, I'd be so friggin pissed. I hope he has a no trade clause.

haha i agree with ya.
Here's another interesting topic.... so lets say Lakers are able to get D12 to head to LA for Bynum. Assuming Hornets are ok with the Paul deal (or the 3-way deal with the Rockets that sends Paul to LA), do you think CP3 would end up STAYING with the Lakers? especially now that the LA team has kobe, and d12? Or do you think he will still walk away from LA and head straight to NYC to join melo and amare?

In all honesty, I think that deal falls through because I don't think CP3 will sign a long term contract at all with anyone.
I think he ends up getting traded to the Celtics, who try to make one last push before they disintegrate their team in 2012 and start fresh with just Paul Pierce. CP3 will then just jump ship to the Knicks.
I also don't see him going to the Lakers because they'd be giving up wayy too much to get Dwight and CP3. It would literally just leave them with Dwight, CP3 and Kobe (after having to trade Gasol, Bynum and most likely Odom as well as some other players). And Kobe is getting old (still very talented, but who is going to back him up? His minutes per game keep dropping...).
