This is great for those that missed out the same USB for $19.99 from CC a few weeks ago.

Damn it, I don't need anymore, but at this price, for this capacity, who am I to say no???
The first rule of RFD is, you do not talk about RFD.

The write speed is 40MB/sec for 64GB model. This is actually a very good deal but reliability is so so...

Are those Adata's claimed speeds? Either way it kept dropping frames while this 2.0 (albeit 8gb) Sandisk handles recording fine:

I agree, I'd like to get some actual benchmark speeds. If anyone can post an image we'd really appreciate it.

There is a good chance your 32GB model will only have half the read/write speed of what quoted by NCIX. Newegg quoted 45MB read, 25MB write for the 32GB model, good luck.

$11.99 and again with free shipping, states 90MBs read, 40MBs write

Most USB 2.0 drives top out around 20MB/sec.

Ok? If you re-read my question, I was asking about this specific drive as write speeds on USB 2.0 vary considerably.

That's what I meant, you should expect around 20MB/sec on typical USB 2.0 PC with this particular drive.

The write speeds should be the same as the USB3 with a max around 20mbs. The only difference between 2 and 3 is the ability of 3 to go above the limit of 2. Any benchmarks below 20mbs is limited by the memory or the controller.

To explain further, I have seen high 20s MB/s for some USB 2.0 hard-drives for large sequential write but low 20s is the norm. As you said, it is really limited by the host controller, PC and type of data transfer. 20MB/sec is about right. For typical usage, small block size transfer is what makes the difference and this is why SSD is significantly faster than any HDD.
