[NCIX] Beyerdynamic DT990 Open Headphones 32 Ohm $159.99 (Dead)

http://www.ncix.com/detail/beyerdynamic ... -81348.htm

I don't think I've seen these under $200. Sale is today only since it's part of the extreme deals of the day. There seems to be free shipping as well as I get that option on checkout. All-in for me is $168.25 (non-BC).

Edit: sold out at this price

They must be clearing them out because of the new models DT1990s that are a lot more expensive of course.
This is a pretty good price for the 990s, tempting!

That's a good price. I pay close to 200 on boxing days for the 250Ohm DT990.

I have the DT 990 Pros and I am jumping on this. They are my favorite headphones and the premiums supposedly have better build quality.

I have both and the DT 990 Pros (250 Ohms) and they are superior in build quality, comfort, and sound. The HD 589s sound more neutral but I prefer the DT 990s in every way.

I've heard the 990 are much brighter than the 598. Any thoughts?

Can somebody confirm that treble is harsh on these ?

Reviews said that 600 ohm sound better, but are harder to drive (of course), so with a fiio x5 or a dragonquest red is it better to get 600 ohm or 32 ohm ? thks

I wont say DT990 is much better. Maybe sounds differently but definitely comparable.

Currently own DT770, DT880, Denon D2000, 598se, Vmoda M100. sen HD25

Nice collection! I got HD600's, HD598, HD598cs, AKGK701, AKGQ701, Fostex T50RP Modded, DT770, ATH-M50, Grado SR80 (For sale on CL, trying to thin out the herd), and AiAiAi TMA-1 Studios (For Sale on CL as well). *Edit* I wrote 598se, I meant cs, the closed version.

What do you use to power all yours? I run a Little Dot MKII that I tube roll with through a Behringer UCA202

Oh and that of course doesn't include any ear-buds.... lol

WOW. your collection is wonderful too!
I used to have schiit asgard 2 for my hd650 but sold them on head-fi and now only use yulong mk2 as a DAC and AMP. It's a bad hobby, too much money spent :D I'm trying to move away to something else now.
You are in Vancouver? A nice city I've lived there for 4 years in Richmond. How I miss it!

Guys, I'm about to pull the trigger but I'm wondering if open back headphones are really noticeable for people around me, I never had open back in the past.
