I use my current 2053BW from 6ft away set to its native 1680x1050 and I set the desktop to 125%. I intend to set the 1080p (or higher res monitor) I get to 150% when I use it 6ft away. I noticed 1080p on 27" is probably lower density than my 2053BW but 1440p on 27" is much higher density vs 2053BW. Though if there's a good 1080p smaller than 27" with equal or smaller pixel pitch than my 2053BW that would interest me too. Plus all other specs must be very close or better than my 2053BW.
I know I gave a mouthful of semi-flexible conditions/requirements. I tried looking in store however futureshop won't let me test a 27" display shelf model with native 1080p. They claim it requires a technician to switch around monitors. I'm also concerned about display quality when using non-native resolutions. I hear the image gets highly pixelated, I was planning to use the 1080p monitor I eventually pick at 1680x1050 if 1080p+125% or 150% desktop enlargement is not readable enough. Any thoughs on how bad pixelation or blurriness is when using non-native resolution? Especially with desktop zoom on?
