yeah I do have bad vision, until I update my glasses, but the bad vision plus using my current monitor from 6ft away is why I initially wanted 27" but; for when I'm using my display up close, I do want the sharpness of my 20" 1680x1050 desktop monitor and 11.6" 1366x768 laptop. I want equal or better sharpness and speed for my up close usage moments but; I want a screen large enough to view 1080p from 6ft away.

I use my current 2053BW from 6ft away set to its native 1680x1050 and I set the desktop to 125%. I intend to set the 1080p (or higher res monitor) I get to 150% when I use it 6ft away. I noticed 1080p on 27" is probably lower density than my 2053BW but 1440p on 27" is much higher density vs 2053BW. Though if there's a good 1080p smaller than 27" with equal or smaller pixel pitch than my 2053BW that would interest me too. Plus all other specs must be very close or better than my 2053BW.

I know I gave a mouthful of semi-flexible conditions/requirements. I tried looking in store however futureshop won't let me test a 27" display shelf model with native 1080p. They claim it requires a technician to switch around monitors. I'm also concerned about display quality when using non-native resolutions. I hear the image gets highly pixelated, I was planning to use the 1080p monitor I eventually pick at 1680x1050 if 1080p+125% or 150% desktop enlargement is not readable enough. Any thoughs on how bad pixelation or blurriness is when using non-native resolution? Especially with desktop zoom on?

Ocz is bankrupt, you may or may not get any warranty from them at all. if you are concerned about reliability then ocz also has the worst rep, though not necessarily on newer models
When did OCZ go bankrupt? Wow, didn't know a company moving so much product could go bankrupt. I'm always happy to hear that companies releasing mass amounts of models with major flaws getting shut down.

got the 3TB Seagate hdd for 99 and free shippping. I need a spare for my raid and didn't see one under 100 since last boxing day :) . I don't have to stay in cold for one at CanadaComputers and I also save QST. yay!
Ottawa location had the Toshiba for $90.

Would you guys say Seagate or Toshiba for 3TB drive?
I don't trust Seagate for long term reliable storage. IIRC their warranties are short, this model seagate warranty is a lot shorter than the Toshiba. Seagates are probably fine for speed and non-critical data.

My guess the $100 stock sold out so now there's only the higher price stock left.

Order placed on Dec. 24th now at "Order Processing" stage. Anyone get an in-store pickup e-mail yet?

Just check if that specific store has stock, as long as they do you can pickup.
I just picked up two of my orders today, both were in "Payment Processing" approved. Placed one just yesterday, as long as your payment process is approved and in stock you are good. This was at the 14th Warehouse location.

Thanks. I ordered for pickup at FMP, but they only have one of the two items. The warehouse has both, though. I'll try calling and see if they'll let me pick up from there.

Should have mentioned this, one of my order was originally for pickup at FMP. But they let me pickup at 14th warehouse as warehouse had stock.

I bought a Vertex 3 120gb in 2009, Agility 3 256GB in 2011. I have had 0 problems with both drives. This isn't a reply in your quote directly, just to all the people bad mouthing them.

I got an in-store pickup e-mail on Dec 27th. My video card showed 9 in stock when I made the order on the 24th, then it showed 0 at noon when I checked on the 26th. My store and the BC warehouse are very close together too.

I had an OCZ SSD drive die on my family member with all of their data, so good riddance to OCZ... caused me so much wasted time trying to fix/recover it.
