[NCIX] Lexmark MS310D duplexing laser printer $69.99

Great deal on a fast monochrome laser printer that has duplexing capabilities.

You can use 2,500 page or 5,000 page cartridges and cheaper remanufactured cartridges for them are already out on the market.

How about these two? These are also duplex , plus are network ready too. Although not as first as the OP's one, but these have a plus of being network capable.

I use occasionally, so not too worry about the PPM. First one is cheaper with better print resolution, and the second one has ethernet connectivity.
any suggestions?

Samsung only does manual duplex

Toner for the brother is cheap. Regular yield is like $20-25 with shipping and high is actually $5 more and oem is double.
That said the regular is about 1200 pg and high is 2600

For now you're safe but be careful since Lexmark has left the consumer printing business. The toners will still be available for a bit but we can't know for how long. The lexmark inkjet wall has already shrinked by half in the past two years. Laser toners are left at only a few models

oh manual duplex .. nothing is mentioned in specs. but you're right, i found it on other review sites. Thanks for pointing that out.
I will probably go with the brother one...seems good for my needs. btw, where did you find the $20-25 toner?

http://www.123inkcartridges.ca/brother- ... TN450.html I've bought from them and it's okay. It'll most definitely print but the last one i used the printer kept saying it was empty. There's an override so it's still printing so I don't care but just be warned it's not 100% lol

I got a bunch of the compatible ones for my color samsung and they work perfectly though so YMMV.

the TN450 should be the "high yield" version that works with majority of these brother printers.

http://www.123inkcartridges.ca/catalog/ ... 93&q=TN450

Which is good so in case you upgrade later to say the 7065DN if u want the scanner the toner isn't useless :p

There's also occationally a groupon for other toner sites too.

EDIT:

OH and amazon has some too (not from them direct)
http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B005407MOS/ref= ... opbotca-20 $20
http://www.amazon.ca/Cartridge-TN-450-C ... rds=Tn+450 $13

http://www.amazon.ca/Cartridges-TN-450- ... rds=Tn+450 5 for 55

just google around lol there's TONS for this brother series.

quite awesome actualyl considering i have a prime account and so 2 day shipping is included lol i'll get these basically within 1-2 days (depends when i order)

just FYI a lot of these are fufilled by amazon but they aren't coming from amazon so quality will be hit-miss.

The yield is different. They have some carts that do up to 8500 prints supposedly. The toner isn't cheap for the lexmark unfort lol but they seem to have a higher duty cycle. While for example the brother won't have as long of a duty cycle you'll likely have to replace a major component sooner (img unit/drum something)...

Then again it's speculation on my part :p

I personally would only get consumer level laser because I don't have more than burst usage - and per page seems to be cheap.

130/$1 or 0.769 cents a page for the brother one particularly.

from the reivew and above discussion, I'd go with brother. but 2770 is an older model, I believe the newer/upgrade model is 2780, saw somewhere selling for $20 more. one review on Staples abot 2770 is about the wireless connection trouble, which concerns me a bit. don't know if I should wait.

is there any Staples coupon out there we could use to order online, how can you collect airmiles if you order online?

The toner you can find it for $20 OEM from amazon but I wonder if this is real !!! http://www.amazon.ca/TN-450-GENERIC-TON ... B005407MOS
That is a Chinese-made copy of Brother's toner cartridge. It is NOT an OEM cartridge. Some people report problems with them and others say no problems. Be aware that you cannot get MSDS sheets for those generic or compatible cartridges, so you don't know exactly what they are composed of. Most of them are made of cheap plastic and cannot be reliably re-filled, thus they usually end up in the garbage and eventually our landfills.

If you want cheaper toners than the OEM ones, look for locally remanufactured OEM toners. You might pay a few bucks more than you would for compatibles, but the quality is much higher and the service is much better.

You can find quality remanufactured toners at www.onthespottoner.com. They are based in London, Ontario and offer free shipping. If you don't see what you are looking for on that site, send them an email and ask.

They sell remanufactured 5,000 page toners for the MS310 for $69.00. The OEM toners from Staples are $209.

One thing to be aware of with Lexmark... Their printers may be a bit more expensive, but they make quality printers that last a long time. The MS310 printer uses a two-part system with one part being the toner cartridge itself offering 1,500 page yield and 5,000 page yield. The other part is the 60,000 page imaging unit. Lexmark sells them cheap, for around $40-$50.

For the brother printer mentioned above, it is also a 2-part system. However, the cost per page can be much more because you can only get the TN450 2,600 page yield cartridge or the lower 1,500 page yield TN420 and they imaging unit only lasts about 11,000 pages. The imaging unit is expensive from Staples, at $120, though you can find a remanufactured drum unit for around $50-$60 from local remanufacturers.

They are not cheaper yet because it's a fairly new printer, so the Chinese clone makers haven't really come out with a cheap copy yet. Those that have are keeping their prices high until the market gets saturated with them, driving the prices down.

You can get one from local remanufacturers though at about half or less than OEM prices.
