[NCIX] Powercolor HD 7870 PCS+ MYST.(TAHITI LE) 79xx based! $235 - $20MIR = $215

Hi all,

Not sure if this is considered "HOT" deal, but never saw mention/discussion of this card.

This is TAHITI LE which is based on a 7970/7950. It's performance is right between a 7870 and 7950 but its price at 7870!

Outperforms 660TI on stock and it can overclock like a beast just the 79xx and beat GTX670 and near 7970 performance. :cheesygri

Reviews (same card, different brand:
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Club ... LE/31.html (Overclocking results)
http://www.kitguru.net/components/graph ... tahiti-le/

uses a 3 heatpipe direct touch heatsink. (cool & quiet)
Also, it can be crossfired with 79xx series cards!

Excellent deal. it's only about 10% slower than a 7950'clock for clock and 15% slower than a 7970'clock for clock.
At $220 this is best deal on the market. Expect to get 1150 on the core with 1.21-1.25v

Reference design is superior imo.

More efficient and throws the hot air out of the case.

Very good deal nonetheless.

This or 7870 Double D XFX (Both are the same price)

EDIT: I don't understand why most 7870s (XFX, Sapphire, etc) are priced higher than this ?

I mean its BASE price is lower, with all vendors. why is that?

this card isnt your regular HD7870... for its price, its performance is superior to the those 7870's (see reviews)

The only reason one would go with a regular 7870 over this would be power consumption - if your PSU cant handle the power requirements.

This card makes the 7870, 7950, 660 & 660Ti redundant in terms of bang for buck.

The only one thing holding me back is the noise.

EDIT: I Really dont understand why this is better. its clocks are lower than the Gigabyte / XFX. If it really is better, why is the price low then?!! I mean its regular price

Wish I would have known this before I bought the MSI one at 199 the other day... still hasn't shipped though, so I hope I can still change it
