NCIX Special Order/Atic questions
Anyone shop (online) at Atic.ca? Good/reputable company?
I'd rather just buy stuff from NCIX as they have most of the stuff I want, but I'm not sure how they are on their 'Special Order' stuff... Says 5-10 business days or longer - are they pretty good at those time lines? ...Don't want to wait a month for a part or whatever....

If Atic has lower prices, just PM them with NCIX.
About special order items, they're usually pretty accurate in how long you have to wait. If it says 5-10 days, then expect that your order be delayed a week before it is sent out.

No, ATIC is not good, nor is it reputable. It's the most shady computer shop in all of Vancouver.

If you are local to vancouver another decent place is anitec, they have a very nice store on kingsway. I get most of my stuff from ncix too but when they dont have stock or wont sell something separate because it is oem i go to anitec.

Ditto to Anitec http://www.anitec.ca
They advertise/sponsor RFD.
I think with the majority of places, special orders vary. If it says a few days, then I would assume that they have it in one of their warehouses, but if it says week or longer, they have to order it from their supplier, in which case they don't know how long it takes either.
BTW, I know that NCIX charges you right away for web orders, even though it may take them a month to get it in.

In general, only place the order if it shows stock available in their warehouses. Otherwise, you could be waiting forever for it, and they'll never update you on the status of it.

i always hated this. not the charging right away, but the month long wait for random **** that should only take like 2 weeks tops...

NCIX can be hit and miss on special order stuff.. I've had to wait nearly a year for some of the stuff I've ordered, and other stuff has taken 3-4 months.

I'm giving them 2 weeks... then I try somewhere else. I don't really have a choice really for 2 items:
Supermicro X7DAL-E motherboard
Supermicro 743T-650B case
They're not really something I've found in stock anywhere... But I will cancel and try somewhere if I have to.... I've given NCIX a lot of business... so I kind of expect them to follow thru with "5 to 10 business days".
