I'll assume it was shipped via USPS?
Most USPS services to Canada can't be tracked. The only service I've been able to track online was USPS' Global Express Mail. Also, postage varies quite a bit depending on the service used.... so $9 postage may have been the true cost to ship that SD card. Since it was air, and not economy (ground) service, I doubt the seller burned you that much on shipping.
I would ask the seller to ship you another card. If that's not possible, tell the seller to refund your payment in full, and he/she can deal with the insurance claim or whatever. Since it's been 3 weeks, don't wait to long to get a refund or another shipment, as PayPal might not be too helpful after 45 days of the initial payment ( your CC will still have your back, though ).

Need advice on ebay item not arrived yet
Need a bit of advice here.
I bought a $65 SD card which hasn't arrived from the US via ebay, for over 3 weeks now (item bought on Sept. 27). The item was sent by airmail, and insurance was required on the purchase. Obviously shipping was overpriced cuz $9 for airmailing an SD card...
The seller offers to claim insurance ("value" on customs form was set at $20) but I'm not happy with that. I never had anything lost that was sent from the US. It's taking too long. And the seller did not put a tracking number on the item.
What should I do? Should I file a request for money back from Paypal after getting the insurance back? I think Paypal purchases are protected if the seller did not offer a tracking number.
What would you do?

i'm in the same situation here... its been 2.5wks. the seller works for UPS and he told me there is no tracking available outside the US.
there is probably just some hold up at the boarder or something. a friend of mine told me she waited 6wks one time for an item to come from the US._______________
That's my 2cents worth

Give it another week and then file for item not received. I think 4 weeks is more than generous for waiting on a package,

Blame Canada Customs for the delay...I once waited 6 weeks for a motherboard..If the seller has great feedback he probabably sent item out to you ASAP..Mabee wait another week...I wouldn't panic just yet...good luck

I once bought a DVD and it took almost 7 weeks from the time he sent it (according to the postage date on the package.) Sometimes, things just take long, and he probably sent it the cheapest way possible.
Just in case anything bad does happen, I hope you paid by CC so you can do a charge back._______________

well
file a claim through paypal and once you get that file another with your credit card. Then your on the safe side and you can get your money back if sometime in the future you get the card you can eitehr pay the seller back or keep it its up to you but if its been more than 4 weeks i doubt you will get it its supposed to be 2-4 weeks.

unfortunately I paid with Paypal funds because Paypal won't allow Canadians to use CC use unless you have zero funds.
I will file a claim with Paypal and get the seller to suck up the $20 insurance (I want my card or money back, not $20)
I'll wait 1 more week then

Ah same here. I bought something off ebay through a seller in Hong Kong. I was stupid and paid for surface mail with tracking. I asked them for tracking, they never gave me one. And to this point, I still haven't recieved it.
I filed complaint in Paypal and my case was closed immediately because paypal said that the case cannot be determined. Lost $40 USD and cannot contact seller. Seller has also unregistered himself on ebay.

This is why you pay for everything through credit card.
I've ordered several things off eBay from overseas and the States, and they usually took no more than three weeks to arrive. I only had one problem where a seller never delivered and gave vague answers. I think waiting six weeks is being excessively generous, and I had to call the credit card company to get my money back, since Paypal wasn't much help at that point..._______________

Its taken me 4-5 weeks to get something from the US before, I'd all but given up and the seller asked that I just give it a bit longer. Sure enough, about a month after I paid, it got here...stupid customs.

For future reference, click "source of funds" and choose your credit card.
