Process 12-ICA-NCR-OE-VAR-NID-368 there is in QC a catch up of the interview that was done in 2015 July. there is EG2 slaughter that time they let me know will be for 2 or 3 month. then few month later I received a mail contact that will be other process and this one will be attached. Today I received a contact that my name will not be considered after an interview of EG2 last July 2015. The interview was very simple, no play rolls. The position are in french and I am not french native but I have been living here the last 15 years. My info today...seems they restart the interviews after the summer vacation, I dont know the budget what is. Probably in other provinces will be news very soon. There is a budget ...I think

Process Selection number: 15-ICA-CLSTF-OE-VAR-HRSD-006 they have open a selection process from the pool opened on 2015. they need 10 positions for scientific advisers, they required to me a recent updated resume, cover letter and reference check. so far it has been 3 weeks no response from them yet. (My only problem is that i have experience obtained outside Canada, and since i have been here i did not have any related recent experience), i doubt they will consider me after this step. If any in this forum has received any e-mail related to this pool. please update with the news. positions are located to Ottawa

Hi all,

I have a question in regards to CFIA hiring process. I applied for a position and received an email 2 months later saying I've been screened into the next step and asking me to complete a form to outline my experiences according to the job requirements. This is a little weird since that was what I already did when I submitted the application... Anyway, I didn't see anyone on here mentioned this step so I wonder where I'm standing in the process, what should I expect next and what's the timeframe will be like... Any input would be greatly appreciated!! ;)

It depends, on the position you applied for, and when they open the hiring process, For me all the times i have had any requirement from all the processes I had applied, it had happen long time after i applied, you may have a call even after a year or 6 months, or nothing at all (Like for the Inspector position), In my case they required an express of interests (cover letter) highlighting the skills and my experience that was related to the job description, and an up to date resume with two references. Both times they forwarded to the candidates they select the requirements of the position they advertise.

@anisaem: Thanks for your response! I think I'll keep my hope low then...

@Lentinus: It was a policy analyst position.

When did they contacted you?
They contacted me as well for this position, on November or December (if i am not wrong), they asked me to send an updated resume, and a short e-mail why i was fit for this position, and after 2-3 weeks i received an e-mail, stating that i failed to show how i meet the requirements !!! and the position they were referring to was not matched with the one they required me to send my resume. I do not have the Canadian experience though, and I believe that is my question mark, for the hiring process within CFIA!! I have already lost any hope that i will get any call.

@anisaem: They contacted me in December using a short email format as you mentioned. That's been the only thing I've been requested so far and I haven't heard anything from them since.
I wonder once a position has been filled, does it actually show in your online application status or it's always the generic massage "Your application has been retained..."?

In this application process we have applied for different positions, which in my understanding means that, any time that they might require someone they may be selecting from the pool, and that means that the pool is active, I can not tell if after the filling of the positions this posting will be automatically deleted from your job posting. it happened to me that in one postiion i was elected after they filled the position/s, the job was automatically deleted from my account, in the CFIA case, i can not tell, it looks like they keep the posting/s forever!!

Hello,
Please read what I'm telling you. The old pool for EG02-EG04 is old but they are still pulling from it. CFIA may or may not post a new EG-02-04 pool this fiscal year. It depend on how fast Programs is at writing the new Regs. So listen to what I'm telling you. The pool out west recently for developmental inspectors is the way of the future. CFIA is changing how they are going to inspect. Once Safe Food for Canadians Act is up and running things are going to change. They will have Developmental inspectors, Eg-01 or Eg-02 for routine tasks, and if you identify an issue it will trigger a full inspection by a more experienced or specialist inspector, an EG-04. So if you want into CFIA apply to any posting just to get in, if HR sends you something to complete, complete it. And if you ask HR why am I filling this out, you will be screened out, do as you are asked and don't behave like a 5 year old. There is not a lot of hiring right now, as there are just enough inspectors to get by. And fewer inspectors will be needed for the new system, however 50% of inspectors are within 5 years of retirement, so keep trying. But you must apply for those developmental inspector postings.

Thank you for your very helpful information! as per your e-mail it is true (in my knowledge) that they open recently (December) the application process for developmental Meat inspectors but for the western Canada. and as well as the Primary Inspectors.
My question for this forum is that: Did they open any other pool like that for Ontario as well? If so that means that i lost that application process.
