Need Help, Comp wont start :(.
This morning when I tried to power on my computer after shutting it down the night before, my computer just would not start. I am guessing its the power supply or mobo but am not sure. It was working just fine yesterday the whole day and then it wont turn on when I tried this morning.
Now, how do I know what the problem really is?
My specs are:
AMD 64 3000
DFI UT NF4 Ultra-D
ocz pc 3200 2 x 512 ram
ocz 520 powerstream
wd 120 gig
If you can provide me with any help I would really appreciate it very much.
Thank you.

What happens when you try to turn it on? Does it post? Any beeps? Did you check the connections?

it could be a number of things....you will have to troubleshoot them one by one and try to isolate the problem.
First, as the previous poster mentioned, what happens when you power on?
Do you hear any fans whirl, any optical drives indicator flashing?
You should crack open your case and take a peek inside. Is there a lot of dust on the CPU fan? Is the power light indicator on the mobo lit?
I would think either Power Supply or mobo.... try unplugging the power, waiting 5-10 minutes and pluggin the power back in and powering on.
Good luck !

Check for lights on the mobo with PSU turned on and plugged in. If you don't see any, it's likely the PSU.

I tried everything you guys mentioned and nothing works. When I turn on the power there is no sound, no beep and no fans moving at all. There are no lights on mobo indicating its on and there was not much dust at all. Nothing is loose or anything. I guess I will have to troubleshoot one by one and figure out what it is.
Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it.

If you get no lights on the board, then it could be the PSU.
Do you know how to "jump" an ATX PSU?

Do make sure that you do not have the wall power cable plugged into the PSU, as it will immediately turn on when the green wire - to - ground connection is made.
If it starts, then it could still be the PSU but just not when it's not connected to anything drawing any power.
