im not sure if you can do anything because you paid cash, if there was some sort of trail, like credit card or something, then maybe. but if you try to get him to say that you paid him 800 cash on of those recorded phone conversations, then you got a shot with the cops. then again, you could always buy an aluminum bat and beat the living crap out of him.

you're right, theres nothing he can do anyway. i mean.. scammers obviously ditch, especially when its cash. the only instance i heard of with credit card scams that never got the money back was scammers buying phones with other people's account, and the original account owner claims for a chargeback or something, and the buyer looses out on the phone.
