Need HELP With New Car Purchase.
Ok Here's the deal. Some of you here know I'm looking into a 2010 Vibe. The dealer I'm buying from does not have my colour in stock. It's a rare combo of Red Hot Metallic, base, manual, non ac, and most importantly no hideous roof rack.
The dillemna is he found one a over 200KM away. The car already had 250KM on it because it was driven from another dealer, or so he says. Under these circumstances, would you guys go for this?

I personally wouldn't have a problem with it if it was under 500 kms but would ask that the oil get changed, etc. Plus, I would be very picky during my inspection on taking delivery - IOW, I'd pick it up during daylight hours.

I wouldn't recommending asking for the oil to be changed. First oil change should be done as per manufacturer recommendation. You may ask for a free oil change, but don't change it sooner than recommended.
500km on a car, it's almost a demo..

250 kms is nothing, especialy if this is the car you really want. The oil in the car should be left there until it is supposed to be changed. BTW, no A/C?

I should have taken the time to be clearer - I was presuming that the mileage would be the 250 kms on the car plus another 200 kms to transfer it in (unless of course it's flat bedded - as it should be). If the mileage got closer to 500 kms, I'd be looking for a little compensation such as a free first oil change - whenever that would occur - with the argument being that 500k has chewed into both the break-in and the first scheduled maintenance periods.

Thanks for your replies. I just noticed a typo. The total on the car would have actually 250K when I take delivery not 250k + 200. I meant to say the car had 50K (not 250) when my dealer picked it up. The car has arrived with 246KM and I pick it up tonight. I could have had it flat beded, but at my expense. At $300 I figured it was just a waste of money and would negate most of what I saved negociating.
No A/C, crank windows, manual locks. A real pizza car lol. Those options come in a package that would have added $4000 to the price of the car which turned me off. It does at least come with a heater.
You're all exactly right about the first oil change. Should be left in there until recommended since the factory adds molybdenum or some other additive to aid break in.
