Need Speaker Recommendation (2 or 2.1)
Hi,
I am looking at replacing my current 4.1 system (I only use it as a 2.1 anyways). What are some recommendations for a good 2.1 system? I am looking to spend under $100. Thanks!

Creative T40 if you want to look spend a little more otherwise the T20 is really good as well. I went from the Logitech z680s 5.1 to these and it's missing a lot of bass but it's still pretty good for desktop 2.0 listening. I've got some Sony MDRXB700 for when I want bass which are around the dog's ears if you can see it.

I'd go with the Logitech Z2300. It's periodically on sale for about $100.
It's heavy on the bass, and has a huge sub, but still all around great sound if you're not an audiophile (which for $100, you're not getting anyway). I've had mine for several years and it works great.

+1 While Creative products are no longer as good as they once were, the T40 speakers are amazing and are better than the Logitech Z2300.
If you can fork out the extra cash, the Corsair SP2500 are best.

I had my eyes set on the Z-2300 for many years...but the price just keep appreciating until it was discontinued may be a year ago. Looking at many reviews it does seem overhyped...the big plus I guess it eh boomy bass.
I went with a pair of Edifier M3300SF for $50ish bucks...definiately a great set at this price point IMO

Define "better"? The Creative T40's do have a wider stage, obv, as most 2.0's would over a 2.1 solution, however the z2300's are still the king of the sub $100 market. And has been for almost half a decade now..................
Personally I'd go for the T40's if I didn't have much room to spare, the z2300's if I had the space and desired the extra low-end.

No, you're not entitled to your own opinion, you're only entitled to what you can argue for.
Otherwise, don't start.

Logitech Z-2300 gets my vote too. Although these questions are way to vague. People needs to start adding what their use is, ie. gaming, music, movies.

What about M-Audio Studiophile AV30 Professional Reference Speakers?
The price is Ok ($86 at DirectCanada with free shipping). Sound quality is really, really good.

I am at the same boat myself - looking for a 2.0 speakers to replace my ancient 4.1 Logitech speakers. Have to move to a much smaller space, can't have anything more then 2.0

Thanks for all the input everyone. I know it took awhile, but I finally got around to picking up at a set of T40s, they are on sales at BestBuy for $100. I am listening to music and I am hearing things that I did not hear with my previous set, wow!
If anyone is interested, I am giving away my old set of speakers. They are the Altec Lansing 4100. I do not have a box or instruction manual, just the speakers and all the cables. PM me if you are interested, located near Bathurst and Steeles.
Thanks again.
