Need wireless internet while travelling to Vietnam - Anything offered?
I'm on hold with Rogers, but thought I would ask all of you. I need to provide wireless internet access to a user travelling to Vietnam (in a major city) as a backup if the hotel's internet goes down.
Does anyone have experience using the Rogers/Telus/etc... mobile internet sticks internationally?

Rogers doesn't have 3g towers out of the country. They partner with other countries to bridge the gap using roam rates. The only data provider in vietnam is Vietnam Telecom Services Company "Vinaphone" and they only have gprs (not 3g) so mobile stick would be absolutely useless and using rogers to get internet there would be useless and expensive
You might want to consider looking up vietnam internet providers and see what you can find if you really need a backup.

That's awesome information that I'm sure the Roger's representative won't share when I call them up. Thanks - I'll look into Vietnam - based options.
