I bought 4 Wzye cams off amazon cheaper than 1 of those and they work without a subscription just fine. Picture quality is good enough for my needs.

Cold deal. Indoor cams can be a lot cheaper (in price and quality). They aren't exposed to the elements, therefore don't need to be built with expensive materials. Save your money and buy something else.
Don't forget to goo your attic!

What is a good deal for a Nest Cam IQ? 65$ off, free shipping and only one tax isn't decent? Final price would amount to 350.70$.

Best Buy had the 3-pack at the same price a couple months back but with an additional $50 off when you spend $400 which brought the price down even further to $472. IMO $522 for the 3-pack is already the 'standard' price...

Home Depot has the Nest outdoor cam for 184.00. Best Buy has the same cam for 183.99, might be able to price match for additional 10% off.

NEST aware subscription sucks. NEST cameras without subscription genuinely suck.

I had two in door cams and regretted getting them. They are basically webcams after subscription ran out. Rendering them unusable for security purposes. Plus, they disconnect constantly, just like NEST protect or NEST Thermostat.

Unfortunate that they even require a subscription. Google gets live access to your home to exploit even more data and you have to pay them for the privilege? No thanks. Google products, of all the vendors, should be the cheapest and never have a subscription, since they benefit from you just using their services.

The cost of nest aware is well worth it IMO, it's hands down the best system out there for storage and review of what is actually happening. I used to be dead set against it and used my own system, with local storage etc, but after using it for a while there is no comparison in quality or how easy it is to actually make the footage and notifications useful.

Subsequent cameras are only $30/year.

I do wish that they would at least have given their cameras optional PoE connectivity though. I'm not a fan of the installation requirements for their outdoor cameras at all.

No offence, but I would think that's more on you, though, for not doing the research before buying. There are several products that require a subscription to get the most functionality out of them, so it shouldn't be much of a shock that Nest would charge a subscription for said functionality.

It depends how you look at it. I know people who are spending $20+ every month on security "monitoring" with no video, false alarms, etc., so I don't think what they are asking is that unreasonable. Perhaps before they introduced the $5 a month plan, I would have said it's a bit much.

Interesting that I have not had no disconnection issues with their products, but just remember that you may need to beef up your Internet connection if you are streaming several cams 24x7, as that can certainly cause network congestion and potentially lead to the issues you are experiencing.

Their customer service is great as well, I had some issues during setup (setting up the trial subscription) and to compensate they gave me 4 months of Nest Aware without even having to ask.
