Great deal. Purchased because I have neither items and would like to have them on hand for future use.
Good reviews. I've also used an older model of that tester before for work and never had any issues.

Pretty much the same as telephone wire but with 4 more wires
The cable tester has the wire patterns on it, plus the interwebz has color diagrams. Just choose T-568A or T-568B, I go for B but it doesn't matter which. If it's a straight through make both ends the same, either A or B, and if you want cross-over make one end T-568A and one end T-568B.

Where I live, at the electronics and cabling store, a comparable one is going for $12+tax. I imagine somewhere around that.

Anyone have a good deal on the rj-45 connectors? I foolishly placed the order without buying any. Don't need many (10 or 25 packs would be sufficient). Or should I just cancel my order and re-order with some heads from prime cables?

As an aside: noticed this on amazon for $18.48 includes crimper, tester (rj-45 only, not multi-tester like this deal) and 100 rj-45 connectors. No reviews, though, so I'm gonna stick with the order from main deal but thought I'd through this out there for whoever may be looking for the rj-45 connectors included for like two more dollars. http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00N9VM ... manua05-20

I have the exact same one I bought many years ago and it's very reliable. I would certainly trust this crimper.
