Does anyone have any info on the progress of this theater? I personally am really eager for it. First Markham Place theater just doesnt cut it for me anymore.
Apparently this new theater might have an IMAX screen too, along with the ultra avx and vip auditoriums. The IMAX website already has this venue listed as one of its locations.

I drove through Enterprise road last night, starting from Warden until Kennedy, and I dont see ANY theater being built....like nothing even started yet. I only see condos and that sporting complex.

Does anyone know the pin-point exact location between warden and kennedy where they are building this theater? I was anticipating their Dec 2014 opening for a while....now it seems probably closer to Dec 2016

The theatre is almost done.

It looks mostly completed, I'm surprised you didn't see the big Cineplex sign, but I think its because you can only see the sign looking north on Birchmount.

Oh wow how did I miss that. Next time I'll drive there during daylight.
Good to know its almost finished. I cant imagine any reasom not to open something right away once a building is complete. Heres hoping its Q1 2015

Seems like Ultra AVX only, doesn't mention IMAX in the link above.
Thats kinda disappointing. Markham really needs an IMAX screen. Driving to Vaughan for the closest good IMAX screen sucks. And thats not even true IMAX projection if I'm not mistaken.

Its misleading that IMAX website has a location listed for this theater:

I'm not too disappointed, as long as the VIP theaters are Ultra AVX im good. IMAX is amazing, but so few movies come out in IMAX that I would rather have more Ultra AVX theaters.

It might have it, who knows. Maybe the link describing the theater is not updated. It would make no sense not to have it since this seems like a pretty big Cineplex.

I think it is finished, just haven't opened yet. You can see a huge Cineplex neon sign looking north while driving along the 407 hiway.

They should add an IMAX screen too. As of now its only available downtown, Vaughn and Mississauga. Would be nice to be in Markham. I think theres a market there.

It might be an imax / VIP theatre. Its listed on the imax website.

https://www.imax.com/theatres/t/cineple ... -vip-imax/

You can clearly see the theatre when you are on the 407. I;ve been watching them construct it. The entire building is done. But not sure if they seating and interior is set up yet.
Based on the photos on this website http://www.bondfield.com/portfolio/thea ... cinema.php
the interior auditoriums seating and screens, and the concessions areas are all complete. So all of the major construction is finished.

However, I did take a closer look on my drive home last night, and although this thing looks virtually finished, I think it is at least a month or two away from being fully complete. There are still a lot of little things that seem unfinished. I could see through a window from the back of the building (on Enterprise Rd side), a large area inside that looks completely bare concrete and steel inside. Plus there doesnt seem to be any clear Cineplex signage from the Enterprise Rd side, which I assume is where the majority of the traffic will be coming from. I cant imagine the most traffic coming up Birchmount. Also, there is no road and parking pavement for the entrances and parking lot area...it all seems to be construction dirt. I can imagine getting all of that completed with proper traffic signs/lights will need at least another month or two to be done.

The Cineplex Don Mills VIP theatre is great. Reserved seating; food and drinks served on a table at your seat; super comfortable chairs; high quality screen and sound; no kids allowed. Its the best use of 1000 Scene points evah! The only problem is; I have been twice and both times they haven't screened the movie I want to see in the auditorium wi=th the fully recling seats. :(
