I read on narcity that disney plus wont allow password sharing after the initial launch. This will affect almost every redflagger who shares this sub with other ppl.

I'm not sure how you prevent it. If you lock it down by ip address that makes it difficult for people to use at home and on the road (at the same time.. ie people who travel for work). You could lock it down by limited the # of devices, but that becomes inconvenient to people who use different devices all over the house.

I'm not sure how they pull it off without annoying legit customers.

Could it be due to a network speed issue?

I have watched the first three Star Wars movies in 4k DV with no issues on an Apple TV. Can't try other devices since I don't have any other 4k players.
I watch a couple of movies on the Chromecast Ultra (because my 2017 Shield has no DV) and everything seems perfect including subtitles. Also, the same movie with DolbyDigital on my CCU would be stereo on my 2017 Shield.

You stated you have a gen 2 unit in another comment... that's a 9 year old device! What other 9+ year hardware is compatible with Disney+?
Ouch never realized the thing is 9 years old. It feels like I just got it yesterday. In this case I shouldnt be making such a big deal and go out any buy Roku or amazon stick

Disney+ has 4K HDR versions of some movies that are not available on 4K UHD Blu-ray at all.

Disney also owns Fox, therefore all 30+ seasons of The Simpsons.

The Disney vault section does have a collection of some of the vaulted movies.
There are also those Disney channel exclusive shows and other archived stuff like the really old Mickey Mouse cartoon shows.

Sounds like a very limited library. One can only watch so many Star Wars and Disney movies and from what I'm hearing, "vaulted" programs and movies aren't included. How is this sustainable for Disney? $7/mo but as soon as they start adding more content, they'll add more to that monthly price.

Its the 2nd gen of the black ones.
It supports Apple TV 4 and above since the earlier ones use a different platform. The 4 and above have the app store.

Isn’t the 2nd gen from 2010 ?

I wish they have “continue watching “ and “watch again” category just like Netflix. Didn’t they watch Netflix and try to copy what is valuable features before they launch Disney plus?

Ugh, they chose the annoying method to make the older Simpsons episodes look widescreen/HD.

Two things I wish they’d change: the early Simpsons episodes are all cropped to fit a 16:9 screen instead of 4:3.
They will make the original aspect ratio available "early" next year

Don't expect them to rectify the Greedo issue tho'

Give them time. Disney+ just released on Tuesday. There will be lots of bugs and misses.

do Canadians see the same movie titles as the Americans? I am considering to buy a smart TV this blackfriday just to get disney plus for my kids.

I know netflix Canada has much smaller selection than netflix US. if disney plus doesn't discriminate our Canadian users like Netflix does, then I will pull the trigger.

thanks,

It is not discrimination, it's fr licenses the Canada vs US. Disney is (will be) same with Netflix, content wise.
