With the exception of Hawaii Five 0 and other blatant names in the titles (CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, etc.), I don't think any show out there really shoots on location that they say they're in.
Even Fringe shoots in Vancouver when it's suppose to be the easter seaboard USA, or Smallville is suppose to be in Kansas yet it was also shot in the Vancouver area.

It's sort of all over the place right now but it's still better than V.

Yeah but it's so glaringly obvious in Nikita's case. I watch those other shows you mentioned and the "fake location shoots" are never that glaringly obvious.
For instance, the show "The Unit" featured army guys travelling all over the world. Similar to Nikita. And being a regular network show, it probably had similar budgetary constraints.
And yet, the location shots never felt as cheap and fake as the shots in Nikita. I can say the same for 24, Burn Notice, and a bunch of others.
BTW "V" was very fake too... I remember now, the episode where they supposedly went to Rome... it looked like they went to the church just up the street, lol. Glad that one got cancelled.
I don't want Nikita to get cancelled, but I do want them to improve their quality. Right now the vibe is very similar to those taxpayer-propped Canadian shows like "The Bridge", "Rookie Blue", and "Flashpoint"...
Sorry if i offended all the toronto TV industry people who are avid nikita fans, lol

Yeah Flashpoint has become really good in these past few seasons, they're bringing more humanity out of the characters as oppose to the first season when they were all perfect.
Flashpoint is Canadian and it's no secret it's in Toronto as they regularly use wide panning shots of the city, as well as use Toronto street names. Except for that one episode where they were at Michaelangelo's in Markham (the one at Woodbine and Hwy 7.)
I think Nikita has brilliant writing, just when you thought a storyline was coming to an end - they'd bring in a twist to keep it going in a different direction. The cast is great, especially in the villains' performances. I think the only weak character really is Alex. Her storyline is becoming a bit stale. To be fair, Nikita doesn't stay in Toronto only - there were one or two episodes in Mississauga and Brampton as well.

Is anyone still watching this? The last 2 episodes and the ones leading up to it have been spectacular!!

It's a good ol' clash of the Titans, Oversight vs. Division while Nikita and gang are on the sidelines watching the mayhem!!

Good show, but worst ratings on the CW mean it is likely to get cancelled.

It's a great show. The final date to declare this dead or not is in February. That they refused to renew it already looks bad.
1.4- 1.5 million viewers is that really that bad for CW? Supernatural doesnt seem to be doing that much better and according to several websites they are a shoe-in for a renewal.

I would be - I enjoyed the first season for the most part and watched every episode (I think) - but the scheduling keeps me away this season. I forget which night it is but it's one of the nights were there are 3 or 4 potentially watchable shows on all at the same time. Meanwhile other nights (like right now) there is pretty much nothing. I'll likely catch up on this season by watching the boxset - so long as it gets renewed.
Miserable and mean too, iirc. I think I only checked out about 5 minutes of that one, mid-season.
On the topic of Toronto location slips, it used to be funny on futuristic sci-fi Earth: Final Conflict when you'd see TTC Red Rockets trundling by in the background.
But I was glad that shows were being made locally. I believe the first season of Fringe was TO-based too. My favourite was Due South, with TO standing in reasonably well for Chicago.

Manchester United - winners of the English league for an all-time record 19 times. A mere 2 minutes away from making it No. 20 this season.
Champs for a reason. We play the FULL season. Sadly this season City got 2 minutes extra.
“At United we strive for perfection. If we fail, we might just have to settle for excellence”, Sir Matt Busby. Excellence it is then - this time.
