Every show starts off like this though. It's only season 1, only 3 episodes in. Give in time to develop. The overall arc of Nikita is that she will bring down Division somehow, perhaps introduce allies in subsequent seasons or have the ER doc defect to her side.
Off-topic but Hawaii's Five-O overall arc is about the main character finding the killer that killed his father.
Even Fringe, another great show - had a monster of the week start. Its overall arc is the war with the alternate universe, or the Pattern. It's on full steam with the overall arc now in season 3.

it's not bad and obviously the hook is pretty girls in skimpy outfits + guns, but i'm hoping they'll rise above and create a season really worth watching.
right now it's got all the signs pointing to 'monster-of-the-week' syndrome. We all know nikita will live to fight another day so there's no suspense there, the ER doc will continue to straddle the line of liking/hating nikita, and alex will continue to play the mole until she's inevitably caught near the end of the season. *yawn*
the show needs to be more unpredictable with a strong story arc that keeps viewers guessing. until then it's just another ho-hum series in the vein of knight rider or hawaii five-o (has anyone created a thread on that yet? another show where the hook is seeing the Cylon in skimpy outfights with guns)._______________

I recall the lead on that version always seemed miserable. Probably as a result I never did tune in to that one.
Am I the only one who sees it as "Dollhouse lite"? Smaller cast, smaller sets, less complex storyline, etc. Dollhouse was getting interesting, with the lead character and her internal allies working to bring down an evil corporation, with the added twist that there was a psychotic rogue "doll" also working on schemes of his own. Unfortunately Fox did its usual trick of killing off a series before it had time to reach a proper resolution. I'm not sure that CBS will be any better, but I'll probably follow this one when I can. Too bad it seems to be up against Fringe, with my recorder set to capture The Office on NBC at the same time. I have to catch the Space broadcast, but it's on at the same time as Amazing Race, I believe, which gets priority. This one may end up slipping through the cracks._______________
Manchester United - winners of the English league for an all-time record 19 times. A mere 2 minutes away from making it No. 20 this season.
Champs for a reason. We play the FULL season. Sadly this season City got 2 minutes extra.
“At United we strive for perfection. If we fail, we might just have to settle for excellence”, Sir Matt Busby. Excellence it is then - this time.

sorry but imho dollhouse was a trainwreck. mass audiences and critics agree
sometimes wheden just gets lost in his own genius...i've been praying daily for the Avengers for months now =p
I've been enjoying Nikita more as it goes on. She is definitely cast well. The practical effects and fight scenes are great.

I really like this show. I just wish Division had better security than my home network! Hacking in and out so easily is getting tiring.

don't get me wrong. for some reason even with the low budget and ho-hum story line i still enjoy the show. let's hope for a really good cliff-hanger to build up s2.
Five-O is the same. Middling story line but I still find it pretty enjoyable. I believe one of the guys involved with this show is also involved with Fringe.Off-topic but Hawaii's Five-O overall arc is about the main character finding the killer that killed his father.
Speaking of which, anyone catch the Stan Lee cameo on Nikita last week?
