New users and PM-ing

Good Morning,

Are there any rules in place with regards to newly registered users and PM-ing?

For example, I have something for sale in the BST Forum, and I have received approximately 20 PM's regarding the item. 95% of them have been from people that registered minutes before PM-ing me. I take the time to reply, but mysteriously never hear from any of them again.

It's quite obvious that most of them don't even take the time to read the thread by the questions that get asked in the PM.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the reach of the BST Forum, and I have bought and sold quite a bit because of RFD and other sites like it, but I think I will stick to only responding to people with lots of posts and/or multiple positive feedbacks from now on.

Thanks, and have a great day! :cheesygri

New Users (users with 0 posts) have a very small PM box and other limitations, but they can still send them. If you have issues with a New User spamming, use the Report PM button at the top right of the PM.
