Honestly, it looks pretty dated. It looks like something from the 90's.
People will not take you seriously with a site like that. You don't even have a proper web store set up, just pictures and prices with an invitation to email you if they want to buy.

New website for High-End Inline Skates - SkatersPlace.ca - your opinion is needed!
We have launched a new online store for high-end inline skates (SEBA and TruRev in particular). Those skates are perfect for Freestyle, Slalom, City and Recreational skating.

Please give me your comments and suggestions on how to improve my website. Also, please rate the appearance of the site and the logo design on scale from 1 to 10 (10 being the best). I would greatly appreciate your response.Thank you!

Remove the drop down menus. Or add links to the sub sections inside the sub-section page.
For example, when I click on the parts page, I should see the other links to the pages inside the parts section without having to roll over the menu.
Concentrate on telling everybody what your website is through the design, and try to replace the "about us" with product offerings, or core competencies. If someone came to your website looking for skates, or social skating events around town, they already know the "about you".
For instance, "Welcome to ProSkaters Place. The ultimate source for SEBA, TruRev and Mogema products".
That's enough about you, now it is probably time to focus on the person arriving at your site, to give them what they came looking for. Whatever it is you are making money off of. jmo... Whether it is an upcoming event, or a product which people are often interested in, or what-not. ect...
The inline skates page, which has the two products might never been seen by someone visiting your website, although that is clearly the most important thing based on the front page intro. Not all customer understand what kind of product goes along with an unfamiliar brand name. Not the new customers, anyways, so pictures might help. That's all.Last edited by MrKap; Feb 11th, 2012 at 03:56 PM.

Still as crappy as ever.
-Would you ever see this on amazon or any reputable site?
"This page is under construction and we will upload the products and their descriptions asap. We apologize for the inconvenience!"
-I hate transparent drop downs too...I'm sure others too.
"More accessories are available from SEBA and TruRev, but due to the limitation of a newly established business, we do not carry those in stock."
-Why admit you're running a new unestablished business? Does that instill confidence in your potential customers?Last edited by Cas77; Apr 16th, 2012 at 03:06 PM.

The site looks much more professional.
Only issues I saw when I quickly looked around were instances where your MSRP vs. your price comparisons seem dumb.

Such as there, if your price is only 3 cents less than the MSRP, don't bother pointing it out. Just put your price.

My friend, you are just a loud mouth snook that see a glass half-empty instead of half-full. Thank you for comparing us to Amazon, though. You have found this note on one of 10 product pages that we just didn't have time to work on. As for the menus, the modern website design trend is with the transparent menus.
As for the third one, point well taken. Thanks for this one.

Too much text on the home page, your page shoud have product highlights. People dont read more than 2 lines unlessd they are looking for something specific

Looks good, but needs a few tweaks from a marketing perspective. Give me a call at 1-866-413-0951 and I will spend 20 minutes with you and give you a overview of what you need to do to make it stronger for both search engine rankings and for attracting and keeping customers.

The design is beautiful, but the page layouts feel a bit cluttered and disorganized. Perhaps you could align things better and maintain a certain consistence in your layouts.
I'd still buy from you without thinking twice._______________

Huge improvement over the last one I remember seeing.
I think it looks great. I couldn't find any problems except very minor nit-picking items. Also, maybe the currencies are flipping back and forth on get variables, rather than with a cookie, or something that is not indexable.Last edited by MrKap; May 17th, 2012 at 05:33 PM.
