Newbie: automated watering
Hello, I have a small backyard and I would like to install a cheap automatic watering system. I was thinking of buying a computer timer and then a circular sprinkler system in the middle but I don't know about the coverage or maybe other setups would work better.
any other suggestions would be appreciated!

It comes with two stations and the other two can be used manually or you can buy additional controllers to up to 4 stations.

I have the same unit from CT as Zackweed. This is my 2nd summer using it. I have one station for front and one for back.
As far as. Coverage is concerned, that depends on your sprinkler.

Can anyone else comment on the above mentioned system? Will this be enough for a average house backyard. Our lot is 41 feet wide, but not sure how deep it is...maybe 100 feet?
Looking to buy it from amazon USA as it's much cheaper.

The setup was easy, as you don't need to dig anything. I used 3 zones. One for the front and two for the back. I picked up an 80' hose to bring the zone up to the front, 3 x 50' soaker hoses for each zone, plus another cheap garden hose, where I cut up both hoses into segments. I did this so I can extend it to different regions on a single zone. All in all, it cost me $200. It's not that cheap, but it was the best thing I could mock up within the 3 days I had remaining before my 3 week vacation. $200 is well worth saving my $9.5k investment in trees.
After the vacation, my trees where quite healthy. I readjusted the schedule to better fit the needs of the trees/bushes. Overall I'm pretty happy with the performance of this system.
Our lot is exactly 40 x 100. It's enough to water the trees and bushes, but not enough if you want to water the grass as well. When I'm finished the landscaping, I plan to install a permanent system and keep this one to water potted plants on the deck and porch.
Cheers!

Why don't you get a sprinkler system installed? For such a small lawn it should cost <1000. Probably 500ish?
