Not a bad price for this setup, costs slightly more the build the same setup considering this has a 6700k and a Z170 mobo.

Intel Core i7 6th Gen 6700K (4.00 GHz) $455
8 GB DDR4 2400 mhz $50
2 TB HDD $100
Windows 10 Home 64-Bit $130
AMD Radeon R7 250 2GB $100
350 watt thermaltake psu $47
MSI Z170 Motherboard $150
keyboard and mouse ~$30
Cheap case $40

Total$1102

For gaming you'd want to upgrade the video card.

This has a better cpu but worse gpu although anyone who is serious about gaming would probably switch out either gpu.
Hard to say. This one is a little more future proof with DDR4 and a Z170 motherboard.

Out of the box the other one may have been better for gaming.

The other one was a couple years outdated where this one is current.

I don't think it's near the $699 deal from yesterday.

The difference between a 6700k and 4790K is negligible, this one has a small power supply and by today's standards a poor GPU that's almost 3 years old, for $200 more.

Ya the other deal has a bigger psu. That psu would still be powerful enough for a 1060 at max, might have trouble with a 1060 though.

And yes the cpu is similar in performance, but with ddr4 you can get a lot higher memory speeds.

Also this msi board supports m.2 drives for even more future upgradeability. NVMe drives are about 4x faster than SATA.

As well it has usb 3.1.

I agree though for someone looking for performance out of the box the other machine was a better deal. 2 years down the road you might be happy you got this one though. Like I said hard to say and it depends on the person buying it.

There are definitely some compelling reasons to get this one over yesterday's deal, especially if someone wanted to dump the gpu the second it arrived.

One person wrote three reviews about his crashing. I wouldn't assume they all do that.

Yeah, other deal was much better--still an i7 plus you got a real GPU. I'm not even sure why in the heck they bothered with a GPU in this one. Yes the R5 250 is faster than the integrated, but just barely. Neither is any good for modern-day gaming, unless you somehow have an old monitor that's 720p or less (and even then it's still not going to be great for 720p!).

What's more interesting is that both of these systems are ugly as sin. I mean they are so ugly they must be discounting these just based on the appearance  Seriously these are some terrible looking cases as it is, then both companies went and plastered their logos on the cases making them even worse! Yeah yeah I know one could just change the case, but I don't get what these guys were thinking when they decided to market these monstrosities!

I agree, these machines are gawdy. I just thought for the specs this deal was decent considering you can't build a similar machine for the same price.

I've seen multiple cases of people getting away with running a 1060 on 300 watt asus/dell/acer machines so I would guess it should work. Nvidia does recommend a 400w though. It really depends on how much you overclock the CPU.

It's not worthy.

For an office & programming computer:
Too heavy and ugly
video card is redundant, since it doesn't support 4k without a DP

For an gaming computer:
Too ugly...again
video card is wasting money
psu need to be changed, then again wasting money
8G Ram is not enough

So I don't think the additional time and money cost to fix these would be worthy...

I have to disagree, 8gb of ram is currently fine for gaming and i dont think there's a single game that will benefit more than a couple fps from 16gb.

The psu should be good enough for a 1060 as pascal cards use very little power.

Ugly is right though. haha

That game is known to be poorly optimized. Even then here's a comparison.
