Highly recommend this unit!
Got it last October for $374.99/free shipping from NewEgg.ca and stuffed it with four 3TB drives.
Synology and arguably QNAP are the leaders in the NAS game. There is a price premium for their products but I feel it is worth it. And Synology has a great collection of iOS and Android apps for interacting with their NAS products including a desktop cloud app (like having your own Dropbox setup). And the Synology web-based UI is no-question the best out there - check out their live demo here.
This is one product I use daily and have never had fail - my uptime is now over 100 days without any issues. I haven't had to reboot it since I installed the hard drives.
It's a data storage device, media server, security camera video recorder and BitTorrent downloader in a single, lower-power box.

Question for ppl with this unit...
I want to replace my HP home server since it could only take max of 2tbx4 and this one is 4tbx4.
What I like about the HP is being able to pick and choice what I want to duplicate, not being familiar with RAID could I do the same with this unit.
Thank you.

I also have a HP home server with 4 x 2tb. I added this via esata and have another 6tb and it works great.

I wish there's a way to increase HP's capacity cause it works well for me.
thank you.

I'm thinking you could build or possibly buy an i3 system with 380. Is there an advantage to getting this? save power, quicker to setup? It also wouldn't look this bad for those who are vain on such things hehe

Why PM with NCIX? Last I remember, they just match, not beat...right? Plus they don't match shipping deals.

What kind of drives are you guys getting for NAS? I have seen Western Digital is selling the RED line of drives specifically built for usage in NAS, but they are kind of expensive? What else works good ?
