[Newegg] **HOT** WD Elements 8TB USB 3.0 Desktop Hard Drive WDBWLG0080HBK-NESN Black - $134.99

WD Elements 8TB USB 3.0 Desktop Hard Drive WDBWLG0080HBK-NESN Black is on sale for $134.99. Plus $7.99 shipping. And taxes.

1% Rakuten cash-back.

2 years warranty. [Plus extra 1 year on most credit cards.]

Total shipped to BC $160.36. Fantastic price of ~$20/TB AFTER ALL DUES!!

EDIT:
Looks like shipping jumped to $15.99 - very low blow from Newegg....

But, as per @Nikhilvoid shipping is still $8 from their eBay store...

insane that they make you shuck these and throw everything else away rather than just selling the drives plain

Hmm, looks tempting but I honestly don't think it's worth the hassle of ordering from newegg. $8 shipping plus restocking fee if you decide to refund. Very unfortunate about that, otherwise I'd have ordered one.

Did they just up the shipping price to 15.99? RFD effect?

Yeah they did. I was on the fence but going to pass. Have had multiple drives from the source, amazon (not 3rd party) sold as new, look like brand new sealed and when I open up to shuck it’s got an old 500gig or 1tb Seagate inside. People are buying and shucking and returning and they are re sealing package as if it was never opened.

Interestingly enough, I'm still on the order now page waiting to input my payment info and the shipping is still $7.99 for me.

I think Newegg shipping always varies depending on location. Anything outside metropolitan areas seem to pay higher shipping costs.

No, I'm not, but I do see on the product page that the shipping has gone from $8 to $16, so it did indeed go up. It's just not changing in my cart for some reason.

5400=100mb/sec
7200=120mb/sec

There are no externals with 7200 that I’m aware of. 7200 is not even relevant anymore, SSD is for software/games. 5400 is fine for media
