Thanks for the update. I'm feeling a little better about my purchase. Did you order the D90? I'll get mine tomorrow. I'll try to register it with Nikon Canada tomorrow and I'll post an update.

Do you know if the 1 year international warranty that Nikon says they'll honour is for the body or just the kit lens?

D90 + the lens (was the best deal of the 2)

I registred the serial number of the camera. You will see it, it's the first thing you see when you open the box (it's not the usual Nikon Canada card, but it's good to go)

So the bad thing is you have 1 year instead of 2. (well Visa add a year for me anyway)

I received my D90 today. It does in fact come with a US Warranty. I haven't called in to register it yet. I'll try that out tomorrow.

So far, so good. I'm happy with my purchase. It is a nice little upgrade from a D70s. I can't get over the difference in size of the viewfinder between the D70s and the D90. The bigger LCD for photo review is nice as well. Now I just need to pickup the Nikon 35mm 1.8 and I'll be happy for a few more years.

For those interested, the body can be had alone for $795USD at Amazon.com and a few bucks less at Butterflyphoto.com. Both are US retailers, of course, but as shown in this thread, you don't get a Canadian warranty buying from Newegg.ca. If you have an Amerifriend, it's a no-brainer.

Personally, I'm waiting for a nice Christmas deal to kick in. $750USD for the body is my "buy" point.

Ahhh... even with after-hours sale and no GST from visaperks the price on FS is nowhere near $1100 all in for newegg.ca sale...
Now I am wondering if we will see anything like that price during or even after Xmas...
