I received an email saying that Google has created a shipping label at around 4:30PM EST today (28/12/12). Now at around 10:00PM EST I got checked the tracking number that they gave me and it appears that it is now ready to ship and is said to arrive by the end of January 4th, 2013. I ordered my Nexus 4 16GB on Dec 3rd, 2012 at around 3:20PM and was said to have 6-7 weeks shipping time. Btw... I live in Toronto and the package is coming from Louisville, KY, United States.

IGNORE THE DOOR!
When the doorbell rings, it is an invitation to answer it. You are not a dog, it is not a command. Just an invitation. You are not in church, you are at home. No guilt.

My second N4 shipped and will arrive Tuesday, 01/08/2013, By End of Day (Vancouver) beating my US order. You'd think they would send these 2nd Day Air at least.

What city are you from?
Maybe it's UPS's fault for not allowing Google to ship units to small urban center before larger ones.
Perhaps Google is shipping a big batch first to big cities, then they'll do smaller ones...

You guys should check out packagemapping.com, not only does it give you a bit more info than UPS, but you can setup email/SMS notifications and it visualizes where your delivery is.
For example, UPS doesn't show me where it is currently headed to, it simply shows the departure from Cincinnati.

For those who are expecting packages in apartments, does UPS simply leave the package at the door step of the apartment or do they leave the notice first? I'd hate to have it sit the whole day by the door while I am at work, rather pick it up or redirect to work address.

Usually when we get a delivery they call our buzz# in the lobby and we go down and pick it up.
Sometimes delivery guys are lazy and just stick the notice either in or on the mailbox so we have to pick up. Pretty annoying when that happens since someone is almost always home at my place (wife is a stay at home mom).
If it weren't for the Christmas holiday I'd have had it delivered to my work address so I could have it right away.

A question:
Why is this phone still sold out? Is it for hype? Lack of production? or poor processes?
Hype and production is one thing.
If it's poor processes, they should fire the all planners, and the rest of the logistics/supply chain team responsible for delivering this product.
