That was one frickin' amazing super bowl. I'm not a fan of Patriots or Lady Gaga but both nailed it for a very entertaining sports event.

Deflategate can't be used as an argument now.

In the history of the NFL playoffs, teams were 93-0 when leading by 19 points or more. Until Sunday.
The greatest and the most improbable comeback in Superbowl history was pulled off today.

I've respected Lady Gaga's vocal talents ever since she was on the Howard Stern show singing Edge of Glory. Never really liked her stage performance, but the ballsy Spider-Man intro and the hundreds of drones lighting the sky was pretty cool. In fact, the tech was on point. Those light torches the fans around the stage were holding strobed and changed color in sync and in patterns. Hope she had a soft landing when she jumped off the stage at the end.

Defense doesn't get enough credit. They killed it in the second half especially when Matt Ryan was setting up for the FG and they kept driving them back.

Julian Edelman... insane catch.
Its about damn time the Patriots had a miracle catch after the 3 that went against them in previous Super Bowls by David Tyree, Jermaine Kearse and Mario Manningham!

Why didn't they go to Julio more? I can't believe they didn't get pts on that drive. What's w/ all those freaking penalties? Unreal.

Yes, Hightower's strip sack leading to a touchdown and Flower's sack to take the Falcons out of field goal range that would have made it a 2 score game was big! Great defensive adjustments by the coaching staff for the second half were key.

A called this to be a close game...it was too damn close..but im happy :)

the reason they didnt get points on that drive is the reason that seattle lost 2 years ago.. Pats/Kraft must be paying off the other teams to do stupid, idiotic play calls to give Pats chance to win..

we all now about the Seahawks one.. 2nd and goal with Lynch.. 3 chances to run it in but u do a slant pass into everyone? terrible / unforgivable / possibly worst play call ever...

but NOW.. u get Falcons up 16 with like 6-7 min left at their own 25.. they decide NOT to run it 3 times and punt (if u dont get it).. and take 2min 30 sec off time... instead they drop back and get sack/fumble.. u do NOT do that up 16 in your own zone... now that one may not be that bad.. BUT with 4:30 left.. at Pats 22 yard line.. 1st down.. u have to run 3 times here and kick a FG.. simple as that... first run you lost 1 yard / back to scrimmage.. u RUN the next 2.. simple as that.. u NEVER pass in that situation.. ESPECIALLY AFTER u have fumbled the last time.. chance that Bryant misses a 40 yard field goal? maybe 10%.... chance your RB fumbles on 2nd or 3rd down? maybe 5%... so 85% chance you are hitting the FG and taking a 11 point lead with 2:30left in the game.. especially ending the game... but nope....

dont get me wrong.. the comeback by Brady and co. was pretty epic.. but it shoulda never been allowed to happen if the coaching/play calling wasnt dumbfounding...like seriously.. seems soo rigged..

also, Brady is not the GOAT.. not sure why ppl saying that... leaving the CHEATING aside (the guy was convicted and suspended for cheating)... Montana went 4 for 4.. DOMINATED 2 superbowls.. 3rd one he controlled the whole game and won (other team never within 5 pts after SF got first TD)... and last one he got a big game winning drive with TD pass to win.....

lets see Brady's 5... first 2 were won by Viniteri kicks (yes brady did drive them into FG range.. tho one of them the idiot team kicked kick off out of bounds)..3rd one he was pretty solid and did a lot to win in... 4th one was basically a loss if Carroll wasnt mentally challenged... this past one he had an epic comeback that shoulda never happened if Shanahan wasnt mentally challenged as well....not to mention he has had INTs in a bunch of superbowl games... also lost 2 of them while being the favourites (and a 12.5 fave against NYG first time).....

Bottom line it was all the penalties against the Falcons defense 2nd half that killed it for them. ATL defense basically collapsed, slacked off and acted over confident 2nd half versus the first. Those penalties saved Brady and helped him move the ball more than anything else. The lack of pass rush 2nd half gave Brady enuff time to pass from the pocket. He didnt have that first half with all the Falcons pass rushes; Brady was flustered and was sacked several times. Didnt happen 2nd half. Point blank. Put it this way... even if Falcons never scored a point 2nd half AND had zero penalties they would have won the game. The game would not have gotten OT. Thanks ref's... for winning Superbowl LI. Interesting stuff from grappos and aznorth...all those freaking penalties and also wasting Julio's great catch. How much can Kraft really bribe the other team though? Pretty silly plays and higher risk for sure.

^ i know its probably not bribing lol.. but it just seems too ridiculous for it to happen AGAIN after it happened 2 years ago with Carroll...

im not one for going with all the penalties.. it didnt feel like too many penalties..

in the end.. u have 4min 40 sec left.. 1st and 10 at Pats 22 yard line... you run the ball 3 times up the gut.. worst case (sans fumble) is that you lose maybe 3 yards total if you are stuffed all 3 times..they ran it the first time.. got stuffed and got scared for some reason... run it again at 3 min 55 sec left... run it again with 3 min 10 sec left.. kick FG with about 2min 25 sec left.. take 11 point lead... if you somehow miss the FG, they still gotta drive down about 70 yards to get TD and 2pt to tie.. and you are only missing that FG 1 out of 10 times and hitting it the other 9...

Yup, gd pts.

So the 1M question is why? Is it really a brainfart of epic proportions? If anything I'd be more scared to pass as higher turnover chance. Does seem fishy as they obviously knew that that fg was crucial. While we're at it, Ryan's last drive sucked as well, passes down the middle w/ no available TOs? Are they trying to choke?

If you look at the stats, there is no way Brady is not considered the GOAT compared to Montana.

Brady - Won 5 Superbowls
Montana - Won 4 Superbowls

Brady- 4 Superbowl MVPs
Montana - 3 Superbowl MVPs.

Brady - Played in 6 Superbowls
Montana Played in 4 Superbowls

Brady won Superbowl 50 at age 39, still at peak of career.
Montano won last Superbowl at age 34 and never played in another Superbowl.

Brady engineered TWO touchdown drives in the last 5 minutes PLUS two point conversions for a total of 16 points AND drove the team down to the goal line in overtime for winning touchdown. Total of 23 points. Montana had only 1 TD in the last minute. Brady had engineered 3 TDs in half a quarter.

According to TV broadcasters, no team has overcome a 19 point deficit in playoff history . 93-0 teams won when they had such a lead.
Only 2 teams have overcome a 10 point deficit in Superbowl to win it. Montana was not on one of them.
Have a nice day!
